We're thinking of renaming the thread "The end of civilization as we know it...";)

The BBC is awful at screening boxing (as well as soccer). They only want to stick to the middle class sports like Rugby and Golf. I think they would be a real turn off!!!

Just been reading an update on the campaign in Boxing News. For those interested, Boxing News' BBC petition already has over 1,000 signatures and, without spoiling Stew's thunder, he's got something in the pipeline as well:yep. Let's hope this campaign gets as big as possible.

I was thinking yesterday that the BBC's live radio coverage of boxing is actually quite substantial. Maybe we can raise the point that if there is a place for boxing on the beeb's airwaves, then maybe there should be a place for boxing on it's TV schedule:think. Obviously boxing would cost more to put on TV but, advertised properly, it could be huge.

ITV's Khan and Froch figures are a must, as well as a comparison with viewing figures for other sports programs currently shown on the BBC, IMO. Just my thoughts on it all:good.

The whoe campaign is a complete and utter waste of time. It is a little like asking the Guardian to put tits on page three. The chattering lovvies of TVC simply don;t like it. And let's not kid ourselves. ItV boss Peter Fincham is ex BBC and ante boxing. So guess what .. no boxing on ITV after Christmas either. The people who are slagging the beeb would be better off turning their attention to ESPN. There is a real chance that they could step in to give us a real and viable alternative to Sky's Friday night offerings. What price Hennessy and Warren jumping Sky's ship to go there for Saturday night shows. Makes a lot of sense to all concerned I reckon.
