According to a bunch a haters all across the net, by Sept 19th Marquez will be a senior citizen who needs a walker to make his way to the ring.

Anything to discredit the fight man.

Marquez is a great counter puncher with a very good ring I.Q but i agree with most of your points.
Marquez will lose this bout, but even in a loss Marquez has a chance to win the fans approval and respect depending on the effort he puts up against Floyd. Guess what im saying is that even in a loss Marquez has a chance to win in a different manner.

i think Diaz hits more effective than Hatton, Marquez however should be hit often, he should be punished if Floyd plays the right gameplan.

Diaz is a much different fighter then Mayweather the biggest differences are extremly obvious being that Diaz only comes forward straight forward and throws lots of combos. Mayweather doesnt come forward often he will usually use the ring more and not run but just make small steps back and to the sides and more often then not usually looks to counter and land 1 or maybe 2 shots or he leads with one power punch.

Two distinctly different fighters. One come forward pressure fighter. The other a make him miss counter puncher. But I do expect Floyd to try and throw more combos than we've seen him do in a while.

I got the same response when I said Pac was going destroy Hatton. In fact, some idiot ESB member emailed me to tell what an idiot I was. I haven't heard from that idiot since. If it mattters, JMM is one of my top 3 favorite fighters, but he's going to get destroyed by WW PBf.

:lol::lol:If you'd have seen Evander Holyfield battle Bert Cooper, you'd have bet your life and your families he would'nt survive Tyson.......

Most pointed at that Cooper fight for the reason Evander could not beat Tyson......

......but the facts are that Holyfield was'nt going to be dumb enough to fight Tyson the way he fought Cooper.

.....the same logic applies with JMM.......he's not fighting Diaz, and so as all the great fighters do, he'll fine tune and come up with a plan to battle Mayweather.

Duhhhhhhh, JMM is'nt going to fight Pacquiao the say he fought Diaz......if you watch those fights, its obvious that the master fine tunes his game to suit his strenghths and his opponents weaknesses.

You dont think Marquez knew that Diaz was'nt going to punch nearly as hard as Pac???:D

The point being is that you cant look at one fight and come up with a conclusions that this fighter cant beat this fighter......you must look at his whole body of work!

......and if it does'nt come about the way you depict, then clearly it will be because Mayweather did'nt employ the right fight plan, eh?

In every fight, there is always a chance for upset and JMM is one of those fighters that you can never discount.

However, the realist must see things in proper perspective as well. There is not one category that JMM has the advantage. Although you might argue that JMM had more experience, but basically, they are probably even. Mayweather had fought more at higher level than JMM, both in size and i terms of quality of opposition.

It is right to view the whole body of work of a fighter if you still consider that fighter to be prime. But obviously, JMM is on the slide with signs that he is not as mobile as before. Viewing his whole body of work is like gauging his present form using the past as basis. Probably, the more sensible thing to do is to see his last 2-3 fights and see if there is deterioration in his skillset.

For all the fuss, I might be wrong after the fight and you will be probably be hailed a Genius for going against the grain. But then again, mismatches is what causes injuries and deaths in ring. And it scares me that a 37 years old fighter, who is obviously (to me) is starting to slide in his skillset or had slid already, is facing a fighter bigger, faster, and stronger than him. The only variable thing that is undetermined in this fight is how is Mayweather affected by 18 months of inactivity.

Divac, in all honesty, where do you put JMM's skillset now? Based on a 10 point scale, with probably 10 points in the Pac-JMM 1, where is JMM now?

I do not agree with everything the noob says. But hey, Isn't this typical PBF SOP??? You all know he dosn't like to fight against dangerous opponent. That said, MArquez dedication for this fight could cause surprises. I don't know about winning, but could be a lot hader than most people think.

One major misconception about the diaz fight is that marquez was easily hit by diaz. This may be the case if your talking about 'connecting' but not about scoring shots. I initially got that impression the first time i watched the fight with punchstats and the commentary. However, JMM practices a far more subtle defence than PBF, in that it is very difficult to hit him with a 'solid' punch. Great boxers have great defence. Baldo commented on this aspect of defence after he fought PBF. He stated that 'i would hit him (floyd) but when i did i felt like i had no energy'. Both PBF and Marquez are masters of taking their opponents power away from them. A more blatant example of this technique is oscar getting apparently free shots on mayweather in one of the exchanges to the body but also doing very little damage.

I suggest that people who want to see Marquez's defence need to watch some round of the casa fight or the diaz fight in slow mo. What he does is often so subtle that you cant pick it up in real time and neither can the opponent.
