Not sure i'd call it effectively, Nunn boxed rings around him for ages before events turned.

Arguably, James starting timing Nunn ... a little bit like Tzyu versus Judah, but not as clear to see ... once Kostya got used to the speed, the right hand started being lined up slowly but surely. I'm not suggesting that it was anywhere near as calculated as the Kostya performance, but I do believe that Toney started to gauge where and when to throw his punches.

Nunn started to get casual because of a perceived sense of 'ease' or 'lack of danger' I don't know ... remember, all it takes is one punch and then ... it's the theatre of dreams, my friend ... if the punch lands and you win, you win!

:huh Toney dominated the three rounds leading to the knockout though??

The way he turned the fight around was damn effective.

I'll reply to your post but it's the same answer for Meta's too of course.

I thought it (Toney's newfound effectiveness) was as much Nunn tiring/getting careless (As Meta said) as Toney doing anything great all of a sudden.

I'll watch it again, i thought he came on more for the last two rounds and not 3 but haven't seen it for years. He was behind by 4, 8 and 7 points. I'll have a Captain Cook.

I've just watched it today for the first time and was surprised at how competitive it was after what I've read about it. Nunn outworked Toney over the first 7 rounds but Toney was fighting back throughout and was landing some great right hands. From the 8th onwards it was all Toney. Great finish after looking dangerous with the right throughout he nailed him with a left hook. Two scorecards had Nunn up 7 and 8 rounds you say. I can't see that.

    Not sure about Honeyghan Curry.

The ragamuffin had very good handseed and especially footspeed.he was certainly quicker than the Curry he fought that night.

I'm not certain Mayweather-Judah fits the bill.
