Honestly, Mayweather probably did have trouble with his hand, but that doesn't discard the fact that I thought Castillo won the fight fairly handily. Early on, Mayweather was not only getting away from Castillo but he was landing the jab and and out landing Castillo. However, round 5 onwards, I really struggled to find a reason to give Mayweather any of the rounds. He was on the back foot, but he wasn't coming back with enough to justify him winning the round. I gave him the last round to be generous.

I had Castillo winning the fight. Good fight. I think Mayweather deserves a lot of credit. He did get redemption in the rematch, and he moved on. But this should have been Castillo's.

    Thoughts?

Fights come down to hit and don't get hit. Castillo could not hit Floyd, and Floyd could not hurt Castillo. The scoring was bogus in the first fight, but Floyd won.

I know you're a big Mayweather fan, but don't come in here acting obnoxious Eze. You can disagree with the scorecard, but be mature about it.

I think for the first four rounds, Mayweather was doing everything brilliantly. He was not only avoiding getting hit clean, but he was coming back with shots of his own aswell as landing the jab. However, he stopped throwing the jab with regularity and was allowing himself to be trapped in the corners where Castillo was Teeing off. He missed a lot of head shots, but the body work counted for something.

The winner in this fight was very much in doubt. Some close rounds could have gone too Mayweather, I concede that. Even the 10-8, could have ended up being 9-9 with the point deduction.

You have Castillo winning 5-11. Basically saying he swept everyround after the 4th except the 12th.

    Hilarious.

    Good Joke man.

Harold Lederman had the fight wider than I did, but the general consensus ringside was that the fight was given to the wrong man. I concede that the 10-8 round could have easily been 9-9, and also round 5 was very debatable.

It still makes for good debate, aslong as Floyd keeps that 0 this fight will constantly be brought up. Just like if Pac and JMM never have a 3rd match their rematch will constantly be brought up.

Floyd lost that fight...just another case in boxing where the marketable guy gets the nod...same with Cotto getting the decision over Clottey...DLH over Sturm...it is what it is...but I blind man could've scored that fight and had it for Castillo...he was unquestionably the winner of that fight.

Exactly, boxing is a business, and sometimes one of despicable practice in judgment. This sport has rewarded personality and celebrity appeal for far too long.

Floyd won the fight. Won the first five rounds, managed to snag one or two late to hang on.
