Floyd has great talent and reflexes. He can do full pad work with the corners of his eyes and you don't perfect the shoulder roll and great defense without good reflexes and skills.
Floyd does not have a flaw in his game imo. It comes down to how he will finish his career off. There isn't anything that Floyd can't do in the ring. He can jab, punch when he has to, dfance, fight flatfooted, go from offense to defense with the snap of a finger. The only thing he lacks is one punch pwer, but as he said, he breaks his opponent down. Floyd has to finish his career strong.
That's a good point. His handspeed might not be as jaw dropping as a Jones or a Mosley, but his reflexes are simply superb.
Exceptionally talented...great athlete, brilliant boxing brain. Simply an ATG all around fighter, but moreso at 130, 135, and 140.
Insane foot work. Killer right hand. Top notch body attack. One of the greatest defenses of all time. The only thing he lacks is some balls in making great fights at WW. But overall he is a great talent.
It's easy to showcase skills if the opposition is not that good, and most of the time he has a height and reach advantage on his opponents which is inclined with his style... very simple fact
I hate Floyd Mayweather's attitude, but his boxing skills and boxing knowledge is definitely one of the best in the game. I respect him as a boxer, but I probably will not like Floyd as a person. He is indeed an ATG.
The shoulder roll/laying in the cut is a great defense, but it has a hole. Everyone seems to get overly offensive when a guy assume that defensive posture, and they throw the same textbook offense at that stationary target. Jab-straight right-left hook. By the time the hook comes they are to close to follow up with any more punches. The key is to throw the jab, then a short right, and then a very hard str8 jab. When he rolls to catch the hook he eats the jab, and it maintains distance which allows for more offense.
The padwork you are so amazed with is nothing more then a pattern. I have seen both Roger and Floyd Sr. doing the exact same drill with other fighters. Personally have seen Said Ouali, and Stevie Forbes do padwork with the Mayweathers. Same exact pattern over n over again. It looks great, but is choreographed.
he is the best fighter in the world and has never lost...the rest is just an opinion...so go say he RUNS...if u have no clue...and he cherry picks..LIKE RJJ DIDN'T....he is the most talented fighter in boxing bar none...love him or hate him
Floyd Mayweather is clearly an extremely skilled operator. He has great footwork, his right hand lead is straight, fast, and accurate. Handspeed is exceptional, his defensive maneuvering is among the best in the history of the sport. He doesn't lack power, the man is a Super Featherweight who has moved through the divisions. He was the first man to stop Hatton with a beautiful counter hook, and he had Corrales down 5 or 6 times (I forget). He is patient, he likes to break his opposition down. He needs to take his unbelievable talent into the ring with other talented fighters, like Miguel Cotto, Shane Mosley, Paul Williams, and Manny Pacquiao (if he is victorous next time out).
sounds good...shame noone can quite think like you...u should train marquez...it is not the art of the shoulder roll it is the artist that uses it...u try to do that to PBF and tell me how it works out...
