His gifts were exceptional speed, stamina, punch out put, defense and chin. Power waqs average, in fact it suffered based on his style which did not allow him to get properly set. K: I'd throw a little of the young Duran in there as well.

Agreed. But I don't see Dempsey handling Greb's style at all. Tunney stated Greb was just so awkward and fast that he was neigh on impossible to hit cleanly. Dempsey hated guys with fast hands and feet and the only advantage I give him over Greb is power. Greb is the ATG, frustrates and easily wins on points for me. :bbb

I picked Dempsey ,but I have some Greb footage.

    The Walker fight.
The first, second, and fourth Tunney fights.
    One with Gibbons.
    One with Brennan.
All of the sparring footage with Dempsey.
And a taped interview he gave to Nat Fleischer shortly before his death.

Is it the Blue Ray version?

I wasn't very impressed with the Jackson Corbett fight .

Seriously I wonder whether we will ever see colour versions of the old time classic fights? A poster on here [forget who] did it in reverse and re -adjusted one of Vitaly Klitshckos fights to black and white and in jerky style ,it was a revelation.
Imagine seeing Dempsey Willard in colour ,a baking hot day, outdoor fight ,Willard white and complacent ,Dempsey burned allmost black by the sun, teeth gleaming in a snarl, big Jess tottering around blood and gore all over his face .Dempsey's gloves sticky with blood ,angry welts all over Willard's flabby torso, not being sadistic, but wouldn't it bring the fight alive to you?

I dont even know how to post a clip. Its really not that great. Its shot from far away but its neat to look at. I think there is color footage of the Mathews fight as well but I may be mistaken. The earliest color footage I have is Zale-Soose (I think).

Surely the holy grail is the Greb-Tunney trilogy? I suppose a lot of people would want footage of Langford, but I'd go for Greb. His style is almost inconceivable; it sounds so effective. There's a small enough clip of Langford to gauge how he would fight; it'd be interesting to truly see Greb's style in action rather than saying 'he's a bit like Joe Calzaghe but much better'

I have a question for you, and i want you to answer it truthfully. Why is it that every post you respond of me, you always bring up Marciano? Even completley irrelevant non marciano threads, you have to bring up his name. Pretty sick obsession if you ask me. FYI, I believe both Marciano and Dempsey knock Greb out.

    Anyways,

Sparring means jack ****. Lets face it, Greb would come right into Dempsey the way frazier went in against foreman. I cant imagine what kind of damage dempseys power would have on a 165lb man...
