I used to be a Calzaghe fan,but haven't been for a few years because this is what he did:he wrote in his autobiography that RJJ was an unworthy opponent and shot due to his 2 brutal ko victories to Johnson and Tarver. Then after he signed to fight Jones, went around saying that Jones was still great. He obviously lied through his teeth to make himself look better. Now he goes around saying that he beat a prime ATG in Jones.JC is a great fighter, but absolutely full of ****.He has no credibility when he opens his mouth because it's on record what a liar he is.Shame on him.

I agree with daryl's overall point.....amongst boxing fans 20 years from now hatton will be looked upon in a more generous light.....and joe's lure will continue to fade.......

Frank Warren deserves an academy award for his management of calzaghe..... joe needs to understand in his era 46-0 is not the end all be all of boxing history......his resume is average at best or IMV sub-par.....

Calzaghe ATG is a joke......Joe should kiss frank warren's ass for the rest of time....

    LOL... always the same.

American's trying to talk up certain foreign fighters' resumes UP, and others' DOWN.

They talk up the ones they know they can ridicule in a split second if necessary. And the ones that they feel truly threaten the ones they perceive as the American superior fighters they talk down.

This is why while Germans and Ukranians know that Vitaly is stronger than Wlad, Americans like to argue that Wlad is better. Because if they can convince Europeans that Wlad is beter than Vitaly, then their ATGs are safe - because it is easy to argue against Wlad with his several melt-downs.

The same with Joe - He is a real threat and Americans would like nothing better than to argue that Hatton, Woods or someone else who has los pityfully to an American is better. Because that makes their fighters safe.

    Always the same ...

After Woods final fight i give him mad respect(He was respectable before). The younger fighter Cloud had him hurt bad. A lesser fighter would have been out cold during this fight. Young fighters have alot to learn from fighters like Woods.

Joe Average, with all due respect, that sounds like any nationality involved in any sport.Personally,I believe that Calzaghe's resume is superior to Hatton's(whom I think is overrated) specifically due to his clear victory over a perhaps great Mikkel Kessler in both their primes. Now,what American all-time greats' status are "threatened" by the myth that Wlad is better than Vitaly? To what or whom do you refer? Please enlighten.

Yeah the Op never said Hatton or Woods was better he said he had respect for them. As for Americans trying to tear him down you are way off base. No Americans ever bring up Rocky Marciano another unbeaten retired fighter. Joe C's record was made from careful match making and postponing fights.

Not sure what you think he 'lied' about. More probably he said exactly what was in his head at the time. If you've paid any attention to Calzaghe's career you'll know that he's (a) not all that bright (b) fairly emotional and (c) stemming from (a) and (b) tends to contradict himself rather a lot.

So,he wrote something in his AUTOBIOGRAPHY,which means it's officially on record, and not done on a whim. And afterwards couldn't wait to sign for the fight after Roy couldn't ko equally shot and former welter Tito Trinidad and it's because he's stupid and emotional?Ok,now I get it.This is the first time ever that I've ever heard someone excused for lying because he's too stupid and emotional to know what he's talking about.Ever.

You sound a bit sheltered. Tbh I'm still not particularly clear on which one you think the 'lie' was.
