What if Perdormo beats Kessler?

Pudwill there is to get TKO1ed. But Perdomo has a beard. Or at least he's never been down, and he's faced a couple of punchers (Herrera and Karl).

 

Question is, is it an Andrade level beard? Because Perdomo's even easier to hit. :deal

 

I don't think Kessler would be replaced. Pretty sure it'd go as scheduled, but the tourney would lose some luster. Green was talkin bout bein a substitute if somebody backed out tho. It's possible he could take Kessler's place and Kessler would rematch Perdormo for the belt. i forget when Green-Oganov is supposed to happen, but surely Green would **** on that for a chance to be in the Super 6.

 

NO...Because Green's a *****...He turned down high profile fights SOOO many times...then will say a BS excuse for not taking the fight...Like many times before....

Perdomo would probably take Kessler's place in the Super Six, I'd expect the same thing to happen if Ward's opponent beats him Saturday, which probably won't happen.
A better question probably is what if Kessler loses under murky circumstances like a cut or technical decision loss by headbutt in the early rounds when Kessler just got going?

 

Finally caught some of Perdomo. He does look like a mess, he's all arms and legs and all over the place. Quite an awkward opponent since he's unpredictable.

Hopefully he isn't too tough and takes a beating but goes down by the mid rounds. Don't need a tough 12 rounds, the risk of injury gets more and more.

Perdomo is a southpaw witrh good precision and could be dangeorus. Of course Kessler is the favorite, but Perdomo is rather dangerous.

However, if Kessler lost, I doubt it would mean anything for the SS. Kessler is still in and the tourney would not be the same without him. Except if he got outboxed and beaten by Perdomo which I find it hard to believe. If Kessler loses (which could happen) I'm fairly sure he would win a rematch at any time. It would not be ideal, but I don't think it changes anything for the SS. Perhaps Kessler will rematch Perdomo in the spring between SS fights or something, but that would be all.

 

Perdomo is potentially dangerous due to his reach and decent power early on. Mikkel should therefore play it safe the first 2-5 rounds, that is, keeping his distance. Once the worst sting is out of Perdomos punches and he is no KO-threat to Mikkel Perdomo is just a sitting duck waiting to be KOed. Given Mikkel takes his brain with him into the ring it is as hard to imagine a Kessler loss as it is to imagine a future for Semanya in the womens game.

Taking the threads question serious: It would be the end of Kesslers career..definitely.

 

Sauderland is running the show and their two guys are Abraham and Kessler. They might have considered putting in a guy like Andrade since he was already beaten easily by Kessler but do you think Sauderland would really risk their most popular fighter and their newest star attraction against a boxer as dangerous as bute?

The tournament was set up to give Abraham and Kessler the best chance to reach the finals and win.

 

That's even more unlikely. Pudwill is 2-2-1 against fighters with > .500 records. Also Pudwill got startched in one round by John Duddy.
