Great analysis, I don't agree with some of it but great anyway. Now I got a question, can you tell me any current fighter who can fight Clottey and look good/impressive doing it?

I think mayweather would beat clottey decisively due to his fast feet, limited countering oppurtunities for clottey due to low output and ATG defence. Mayweather is really doing his self a dis-service by not fighting the elite at WW even though nearly all of them will have 10+lbs on him come fight night. PBF has the potential to reach ATG P4P upper echelons.

This is a good analysis; however, I am not fully ready to say Cotto is not the same fighter. For me, this will be the fight that tells me (Pac). I can say that against Clottey, he did not look the same, but he also had that nasty cut which pretty much blinded one eye. Many fighters won't look the same with one eye; plus Clottey is an excellent fighter who makes his opponents look bad (Margarito also looked like crap against him). Don't forget, prior to the cut, Cotto gave Clottey the first knock down of his career.

So I agree with you that he didn't look the same against Clottey, but I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt due to the cut that cost him one of his eyes.

:good Pac vs Floyd would be great for boxing but I don't think it would be a triliogy....I think Floyd would be able best PAC in two fights although they would be highly competitive.

Sure man. He decided to iilegally wrap his hands AFTER the biggest fight of his career where he coincidentally mangled his opponent. Being a 4:1 favorite over Mosely who had just lost to Cotto and looked rough against Mayorga would really drive Margo to cheat for the first time in his career. This is your position? Logic is a *****...but you can try it out sometime, free of charge!

More sad attempts to try and make Pac look like he's beating 29 year old "washed up" fighters. :nut

This is getting seriously boring, one minute they're picking him to get KO'd in 3 and the next he's beating shot guys. Why pick shot guys to KO him in 3 then?, isn't that what everyone picked DLH to do?, isn't that what everyone picked Barrera to do the first time they met?, isn't that what many are picking Cotto to do now?, isn't that what MANY picked Hatton to do?, isn't that what MANY picked Morales to do?

Either appreciate him or wipe your tampons elsewhere.

since the loss to margarito i don't see cotto as a shot or ruined fighter at all. he may be a little bit more cautious but who wouldn't with that huge cut he had in the clottey fight. the fact that he was able to overcome that cut early in the fight and pull out the victory (i thought clottey won), tells alot about what kind of fighter cotto is.

if pacquiao beats him i will be very impressed because i still think cotto is in his prime.

Yes he did try it out the first time in his career, theres a 1st for everything the mosley fight was the 1st, you really cant get away with that **** in Vegas, Seriously~ the commissoners there watch every thing you do in that dressing room, plus with HBO Cameras lurking lets be a little real with it okay this was a huge fight against Cotto Tony came into this fight in great shape.

Not so much the case with Shane, Toney had to lose 35 pounds in just 6 weeks and from whats been reported he has been also getting worked by his sparring partners a sign that perhaps the weight was taking effect on him, So yea I think under those circumstances and knowing that californias commission doesnt always do a great job, I think they took a gamble in this fight to try and sneak one by.

But in the Cotto fight, There really isnt any way in my mind~

I have heard and understand this argument. It's just too easy to try solve this mystery by saying "they would've noticed in Nevada, case closed!" The Nevada commision wouldn't admit to overlooking the wraps if they hadn't checked them thouroughly. What good would it do them to look incompetent? It's easier to clear the guy and say you would have noticed, but there was nothing to see. I'd say the same thing if I were the Nevada Commision! No matter what the truth was...

So your saying Nevada just denied any wrong doing and didnt do their jobs that night? I mean lets be ****ing real, in Nevada they are on your ass as soon as you get in the dressing room and they do not leave that dressing room until your being walked to the ring.

there is no reason to think Nevada would just deny and lie, they did their job.

Margarito spent much of the camp just making weight then badly injuring his back so that he could barely bend at the waist. A few weeks before the fight he had surgery done on one of his eyes so things were really not looking good for him and apparently his trainer took it all in and came up with a way to give him an edge.

Whether he knew about it or not can't really be proved either way. He may have just went along with whatever Capetillo said because he trusts and respects him or Capetillo may not have told him anything to prevent him from feeling guilty or nervous before the fight. All I know is Capetillo must have been high trying to pull off something like that with Richardson in the other corner.

An interesting note is that the CSAC allows trainers to make the knucklepad ahead of time while the NSAC watches while the trainer makes it from gauze provided by officials and under their eyes. It would be difficult if not impossible to do anything illegal in Nevada.
