Shitty excuse. And if you're about to get robbed at gunpoint, having your own gun just makes things worse, not better. Ask Vernon Forrest. If he was that concerned, he was making enough money to hire a bodyguard.
Wow. Let's jump to fantastic conclusions here. But all this does is reinforce my initial point. Add a second gun the likely hood of someone being dead goes up. This is the first I've heard Vernon had a gun.
Vernon did the right thing because I bet Vernon realized they were stalking him and his kid. He wasnt going to let them get away for another shot
They arrested him at a stakeout of a gun show they were watching. They weren't following James specifically, he just got caught in the net. Or at least that's what I've heard.
This is getting plain stupid. Had Vernon Forrest not pursued his attackers the greatest likely hood is that he would be alive. Don't give me some crap that it was his time and he would have been run over by a bus seconds later if he hadn't been shot. atsch
My conclusion is backed up by the consequences. You think Vernon Forrest would still be dead if he hadn't followed those guys? Please.
What good is a body guard going to do? Kurkland had a felony record thus not even a body guard is allowed to have guns in the car Kirkland was driving. Oh and they were following Kirkland on three different days.
There have been hundreds of studies showing a causal link here. If you have a gun, you're less likely to have your stuff taken, but a lot more likely to end up dead. That's not the point of this though. Kirkland was a convicted felon. He knew there was a law against him possessing a gun. He had other means of getting protection other than buying a gun. If he chose to buy a gun anyway and risk being arrested, then that's his choice, but he needs to own up to the consequences.
What? I am the one that said that first. He shouldnt of chased them but then you said "if he had just called the cops everything would be alright. That is a huge assumption. thus I made a huge but better assumption that chances are his kid could of easily been stolen with the car, especially since they knew Forest had lots of ransom money
