Incorrect again. People who don't finish their sentence can either get probation or parole. Kirkland received probabtion.

Is which what i meant, you break your probation you go to prison.

You cant get probation after serving time in prison for the same charge.

Partially correct. You can get probation instead of prision. You can also get it after prison.

Kirkland is on probation for a 2003 armed robbery that cost him 2½ years of his career.

On Sunday, April 19, 2009, Kirkland was stopped in Austin traffic and arrested for possession of a firearm by a felon, with a possibility of prison if he is convicted. [5] He is currently on probation for an armed robbery conviction in 2003, for which he spent 30 months in jail. [6]

No it isn't. The Federal system doesn't even have parole anymore. All their ex-cons are on probation.

    guys --

Probation is a sentence ordered by a judge, usually instead of, but sometimes in addition to, serving time in jail. It allows the convicted person to live in the community for a specified period of time, sometimes under the supervision of a probation officer, depending on the circumstances and the seriousness of the crime.

Parole is the conditional release of a prison inmate after serving part (if not all) of his or her sentence, allowing the inmate to live in the community under supervision of the parole period. The decision to grant parole is the responsibility, in a majority of states, of a board of parole or commission. Violation of the conditions of parole result in revocation and re-imprisonment.
