Damn i have always made this argument. Arum got it completely right except for the skinhead part. I do think the majority of the audience is white and in that crowd there is alot of racist ****s. And it is true that the white audience turned from boxing to ufc because there was really no good white fighters. Now in ufc the majority of the fighters are white, so the audience is there backing them up. And yes i know there are also many black, latino, etc fighters, but most of them either recently joined the ufc or have began to emerge. Before enyone starts pointing out that the heavyweight division is dominated by white fighters, i want to make clear that when pretty much anyone who lives in the US refers to white guys, they are referring to american white guys, not british, russian, etc. There is a big difference between white americans and white people from other countries. I have said it before its not that non american white guys are born better fighters or anything like that, but their upbringing and culture have a tremendous impact on how good of fighters they become. Generally here in the US fighting is very frowned upon in the white community. Pavlik is the only white american fighter who has shown talent in recent years.

All the higher weights are dominated by European boxers last time I checked. Not just heavyweight. Kessler ,adamek ,froch ,wlad and all those guys.

MMA also has a wide variety of champions from various backgrounds.

Why would that be a problem when the HW division is ruled by the Klitschkos, Povetkins, Chagaevs and Valuevs. The CW is ruled by Adamek. SMW by Froch, Bute, Abraham, Kessler. MW Pavlik, Sturm.

Scandalous types (muhammad ali , Tyson)..Mayweather tries his best to sell his fights by talking **** only problem he's not exciting at all.

Because fighting is just more than boxing. These guys use greco-wrestling , judo , jiujitsu...they also use their knees , elbows , kicks & punches.

Why would they want to participate in a sport they've never been trained for to begin with ? 90% of these guys never persisted in boxing nor even have an amateur boxing record.

The majority of them originally started in grappling. (greco , judo , sambo , jiujitsu) , MMA becomes a logical continuation of these disciplines.

Your assumption is flawed. Your conclusion is flawed. You'd have a valid point if all of them only had a boxing background. But they don't.

If boxing capitalizaed on the fashion part of MMA, they'd have more success. Only Everlast puts out cool clothes. Hatton's got his own shirt company which I think is a fantastic idea. Pac signed with Nike but there ain't no Pacquiao T shirts at any nike store. F'n ridiculous. the stupid tapout shirts are basically a self promo when it comes to selling the sport of MMA.
