Well, he gives himself a better chance if he keeps this up against top competition, but like Ray Arcel used to say, you can't beat Father Time. Toney's time has come.....and gone.:yep
I think if hes in shape he still has a few quality fights in him.His style is a problem for most...he can still hang with 80% of the heavies...
We've heard it all before. Then he shows up on fight night looking like the Michelin Man. ****ing boring, and a waste of time trying to hope.
Doesnt matter what shape he is in losing 20 pounds wont unshot you if thats the correct word. Toney is 41 years old and hasnt had an impressive win in almost 5 years agianst Ruiz and he tested postive for roids on that one. Just look at his last 4 fights he was shutout and outboxed by Sam Peter for christ sakes, struggled to a split decision over journeymen Danny Beltchelder, was losing vs Rahman until Rahman got cut by a headbutt and eventually it was a NC, was hurt several times and lost atleast 8 rounds but was gave a gift vs a shot Fres Oquendo. Now im sure he dominates Matt Greer tomorrow but whats that prove ?
