about boxing and loved to watch it and research it just as much as doing it. Throw me some names at me
Ricky Hatton before he turned gay was really a massive fan. He had videos around his bedroom wall as a younger man, and knew his history it seems.
Tyson is the most famous one I think. But he had access to the old fights as a result of D'amato's friendship/partnership with Jimmy Jacobs and Bill Cayton. I think for a lot of would-be students, before the time of ESPN classic and youtube, not having the materials makes it difficult to really focus on the history of the sport. Aside from that, I don't think most boxers really have a "researcher" mentality to begin with.
**** man, I really thought Hatton had come out the closet for a sec. I was wondering, "how the **** didn't i hear about this?" :?
I've got this video where Berg returns from the Chocolate win. He sounds like he's got an American accent! Weird Sorry to hi-jack the thread.
