id of still been a tyson fury fan if in his post interview he was humble and at least acted like he knew he got beat but same old cockyself so 1 less fan now

 

Did you see how he changed when he realised McDermott was listening from inside the ring?

 

I had Fury losing the fight by a margin of 4...3 on a good day. Obviously, I think that the decision was wrong. I just feel sorry that a boxer lost a belt on this (according to this, and many more boards) incorrect decision.

No wonder boxing isn't shown on the main channels when decisions like this are condoned. It makes our sport poorer by association.

 

He seemed to continually change his tune - first he was saying how much tougher McDermott was than he thought he would be, then he starts saying he clearly won, then he starts saying he was a good opponent listing all the things he was good at! McDermott must have been pacing up and down in the ring and every time he got close, Fury said something positive about him :yep

 

I think tyson didnt take this fight seriously.....i guess david price is the hope of the british heavyweights now....

 

It was a bad decision but Fury could have held his hands up and admitted it like Woodhall did against Catley. Even the "it was close and could have gone either way" BS line would have been an improvement.....

Did Fury have a runny nose or something? He was continually blowing his nose throughout the fight and he did it then after the interview.

 

I don't know anything about boxing at all really but I tried to score it, without ever expecting to have to use the scorecards.

I had it 96-95 to McDermott with the first round just to McDermott, so a 10-10 would have had it a draw.

Twice McDermott turned his back during the fight.

As for the Fury Hype machine, well maybe that helped him get a decision but certainly for a novice trying to sore the fight it was Jim Watt that made it more difficult for me by declaring close rounds as McDermott rounds.

Does Fury get any credit for taking the fight in the first place? Really and truly, this could be the very best thing that happened to Fury. They can now put the reins on him and pull him in a bit. curbing his development might be no bad thing.

One other thing that Jim Watt said was that Fury had faced the usual line of bums in his first 7 fights. Didn't most of those have winning records?

 

I thought that was his hair he was at. Calzaghe used to do the same. I always wondered why he didn't just shave it if it was a bother in the ring

He does seem to have some ticks about him. remember him keep going at his shorts in a previous bout.

 

I had it even at the end. 98-92 is a ****ing laugh riot, O'Conner is a sack of ****.

Only you (seemingly) and Terry O'Conner thought differently (according to this thread). It was good to see him be exposed to a better quality boxer who wouldn't immediately fall over to his big shots....but his defence is woeful, although he does have a useful left jab. As a future World Champ?....Come on!? He couldn't take out an English Champ, never mind a World Champ (who?).

Again, he lost the fight according to the rules of boxing. It was a disgraceful decision that can only denigrate UK boxing to the status of German or Italian standards. Surely we are better than this. BTW. I am totaly neutral as to who won tonight. I had it to McDermott by 3 rounds as a minimum.

 

I agreed with Jim Watts card up to the first 5 rounds but I thought it was a mixed bag in the second half of the fight but still had McDermott by 3 rounds at least and if I had to change my mind it would be 4...:yep
