I expect Freddie to instruct Pacquiao to push a frenetic pace at the outset. They'll use that Jack Mosley patented "power boxing" we've been seeing Manny's last few fights. They'll hope, anyway.. Cotto's timing is superb. I would not be the least bit surprised to see Manny impale himself on the end of one of Cotto's punches on the way in.

Honestly, I can imagine several different flows to the fight - but the level of violence I've been seeing in these two fighter's last few matches tells me it could turn on a dime anywhere at any given point. I can see Cotto landing hard to the body and head while Pacquiao's feet are off the ground.. I can see Manny getting through with his left hand and pushing Cotto back with a series of hard piston shots... You see, the first time Cotto lands one of his 4 set body combos Pacquiao is going to freak out and try take Miguel's head off. For me, it's a question of what happens after that..

I guess what I was also touching on is will there be that moment where Cotto suddenly realises he's blowing fumes out there and decides to take a drastic backwards step? And well...more backwards steps. Until the final bell, more or less.

Answering honestly; I have no idea. But I would say that if we do see that occur Cotto is doomed. It also depends how effective Cotto is with his bodywork, of course. If he can take the life out of that little sparkplug early on he won't have to worry. This is a big one for Cotto, so I expect to see alot of his punches landing to Pacquiao's back, hips, shoulders, ect. Manny is going to have to "swim without getting wet." Most definately.

It is strange to imagine, but it seems a realistic and plausible scenario.

Did he only do it because he was cut? Clottey hardly set a wild pace in there, even if he was big.

good post...i agree...pac will get pissed and freak out and KO Cotto in my opinion....cotto is gonna bother him like JMM did then pac gets stronger and cotto doesn't have the stamina or skill of JMM....so unless pac can't take his shots because of the size he will wear cotto down

He's doin' his part in Marketing and besides it spices up the fight. He'll soon learn about the TRUE meaning of the word OVERRATED after the fight. :hat

you're taking what i said out of context, i was talking about judah and mosely. you said he has fought loads of future champions and yes many were young and green.

lol, you obviously haven't followed his career too closely, who were the belt holders that cotto took their belts from? he's only fought for vacant belts.

Don't see how a easy victory for Cotto would be that fun to watch should he fail against Pacman and I think he will a fight against Mosley or Mayweather ..hell even Berto would be better to watch.

cotto has to press the fight early on. advantage in size. he should not fight off the backfoot.

if he does so, he will lose the round considering he is the bigger man. and judges will not be impressed to see him backpedal against pac.

he should over power pac as early as possible. if this fight goes beyond 6, i i favor pac to win.
