you are incorrect, the root of this whole arguement started here The criminal justice system is based on writen law, not this fundamental society you believe.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4875783#post4875783 The day I give a **** about your opinion is the day Charlie Zelenoff becomes a world champion.
Money dictates enviroment for the most part... He hadnt really made any money yet. Neither has Anne... Hell I have run into Anna at the Short Stop drive(for those who dont live in Austin its a local fast food chain where you get a burger, fries and drink for $3.99-its only a kitchen) through... I'm not excusing his choices I am just saying on the outside looking in its easy to point the finger but from the inside sometimes you can't see the forrest for the trees. Also Kirkland can't read or write...so lets face the facts...he is not the sharpest tool in shed...
Kirkland is right where he deserves to be, In jail for a long long time. I believe his probation officer had already asked for his probation to be revoked because he's been caught with a gun & threw it under a car to try to hide it. So this wasnt his first slip up. Kirkland had Ann Wolff & Pops Billingsly behind him, & believing in him but once a street punk always a street punk I guess. Two of the richest men in boxing today had the same bad start as Kirkland. Bernard Hopkins & George Foreman. Both had been in serious trouble with the law. Bernard did serious jail time. Boxing offered a way out they both took it. Look at them today on top of the world. Kirkland had his chances he screwed up now he must pay the piper
Kirkland will still be at an ok age when he gets out though, but if he doesn't get out of prision until he's 30, don't expect any big fights until he's 33 or so. It's not looking good for Kirkland.
You are not sure of anything. Yeah, maybe what he did was illegal buying a gun on the street after being robbed at gun point, but he did it for the right reasons. That was not stupid. Buying a gun on the street was stupid. What Plaxico did was stupid.
Yo Bigreg. Lets say he gets 4 years...with the 6 months knocked of for time served and 3 months knocked of for Good Behavior....So then we're looking at maybe a tad bit over 3 years. It sucks that he'll be doing time...But this can actually help. Thats 3 years without Liquor, No weed, not being trapped in drama with women...In fact, Texas Penitentiaries have Boxing facilities, Tackle Football leagues...If he uses his time correctly....I can see him being a SOLID, WELL BUILT 160-168LBS Fighter and ready immediately after release!!!! Before working as a Basketball Writer...I was a Reporter in Atlanta...I did a story on Privately funded Prisons in Georgia, Louisiana and Texas....You would not believe the Facilities these inmates have access to.
Are the facilities still available today? How old is your info? I remember reports of weights being taken out of prisons because people objected to guys getting bigger and stronger and 'badder' in prison on taxpayer money and coming out bigger threats. Sounds like what the man needs is to learn to read and write FIRST. Seriously. He was trying to stay at that gym to be a positive influence? I hope all turns out well for the young man in the long run.
