would be fun while it lasted. i have been one of jt's biggest backers here but pascal is a tough sum ***** i don't see how taylor could last all 12 with him. tbh, i see taylor having a better chance against most of the smw tourney guys than against him. u think???

This would be a terrific fight.

Taylor's weakness is big punchers who apply pressure and have an engine to go all 12 rounds. I think he beats Pascal, who has decent power but still questionable ability to take a punch himself (he was stunned against both Froch and Diaconu, and forced to clinch - also rocked against clubfighter Omar Pittman). Pascal's stamina wasn't the best at 168, so assuming the fight is at SMW or a catchweight of 170, I see him gassing late just like Taylor does, so he's got no advantage there.

Pascal relies heavily on his handspeed and movement to frustrate his opponents, and against slower, stiffer guys like Froch and Diaconu looked impressive but Taylor's own speed would neutralize Pascal's advantage in that category. Pascal often fights with his hands down, and has no use for a jab himself and against Froch in the 2nd half of their fight showed that he is susceptible to being frustrated by an opponent's jab. This suits Taylor perfectly, since he's got a great jab of his own and is susceptible to the jab himself (see the Winky, Spinks, Pavlik, etc fights).

I just see Taylor as being the better, more experienced fighter, and against Pascal, Taylor would probably be the smarter fighter for a change. Pascal's most impressive showings have come against slower, more one-dimensional brawlers, and I doubt he fares as well against someone who can match his speed and has better fundamentals.

Pascal was out pointed by Froch. Froch needed a last minute home run to beat Taylor and just pulled it out. I'd say edge Taylor.

    Too close to call.Pick'em.

Pascal seems to have matured and get better at 175,Taylor doesn't seem to get better at 168.

It's 50-50 but it seems Taylor is on the slide while Pascal is going uphill.

Good match up. I'd say Pascal stops him late but it would be close while it lasted

Hmm, this is an appealing fight. Without Pascal will outlast Taylor, and I can't see Taylor quitting on his stool....thinking.... So I'll go with a late Pascal stoppage - be it 10th-11th round.

Pascal makes a decent showing against Froch but gets outpointed, and then takes a title off a protected paper champ and all of a sudden a lot of you think he is better than Jermain Taylor? Oh ok.

I don't know why I'm surprised, since I've read posts where people think Pascal could beat Chad Dawson. :nut
