He took solid shots from bigger men in Margarito and Clottey.

Not murderous one punch knock out artists, but still heavy punchers in their own right.

For me the most import factor for will be to disturb Pac's speed and timing with his jab. But the left hook to the body and to the head will still be a deciding factor

cotto have a leaky defense and his chin is just on good but not great. Pac's speed will be too much for cotto.

I agree with you that Pac picked Cotto thinking it was safer than Mosley...We all know Pac is scared shitless of Mosley after that Margo performance. Put the fact of the matter is Cotto will Destroy Pac with a devastating body shot by the 9th or 10th....Trust. :good

Roach was thinking Cotto is an easier fight than Mosley, but not an EASY fight. I do think he wishes they were fighting Floyd now, because they have to take a big risk against Cotto which could cost them a PBF fight, and a LOT of money! If Pacquiao loses badly, they should just go for JMM III @ 140.

This is a dangerous fight for Pac. You can argue all day and night about whetehr Cotto is the same fighter after Margarito but he is still a big strong welterweight, with good timing and power in his punches. He can definitely hurt Pac. Much more dangerous than Hatton or a weight drained DLH. Im hoping it will be a good fight and I think it will.

Cotto doesn't go to the body that much anymore. Timing and jab are is his best bet, which can offset Pacquiao's one main advantage, speed. If Cotto does go to the body early and effectively in this fight though, Pacquiao is in deep ****.

True. I think PAC wins but Cotto has a very big advantage on fight night with regards to his size, power and weight. But this is a very good big man vs a great small one. I give Cotto 9 rounds before the ref calls it off in favor of PAC.

I don't think it's an upset if Cotto wins. It's more like a 50/50 fight. The odds will favor Pacquiao, but I don't think it's more than 50/50. Tough fight for both.

yeah i agree. for me cotto-pac is a pic-em fight. it's just that i am following the odds from those betting sites that's why i have said it to be an upset if cotto wins.

Ok, Saying that fighting Cotto is cheerrypicking is playing stupid, moronic, etc.... No doubt. Especially for a guy who is not a WW. But Cotto was the most logic step for Manny. Everybody knows Hatton was a overhyped fighter in decadence. And Oscar should have known better than accepting that fight. He reminded me of what happened to Roy Jones when he went to HW and then came back down in weight.

Margarito is suspended, Paul Williams is too big and fighting at 160bs now, so the choces were Mosley and Cotto. Lets remember that Manny Pacquiao will depend on his speed, not in his power when fighting WW. He has power, but never now if the bigger guy will be able to take it, so he has to go with his speed. Now, everyone still consider Mosley to be better boxer and faster than Cotto, regardless of Cotto's victory over him. Plus, Mosley comes from a great victory and is in a great moment right now. Cotto, in the other side, is trying to regain his status, and just had a very tough fight against Joshua Clottey. So, he was the obvious choice.

That said, they might be subestimating both, Clottey and Cotto. Manny will never be as strong as Joshua. And Cotto looks very determined for this fight. Manny could be in for a nasty surprise.
