I agree with you that Roach and Pacquiao wanted to cherrypick. Better put, however, is that Roach and Pacquiao thought they were cherrypicking. They drew the wrong conclusions from Cotto's Clottey performance and were misled by it and they misinterpereted the whole Clottey-Cotto fight. They will pay for their error come November.
If Cotto is cherry picked then someone needs to be careful of who they pick. In this case, cherry picking Cotto can back fire
you're joking right? the only times in his career he didn't go to the body were against AM and josh clottey, for obvious reasons. when it is appropriate and possible to go to the body, of course he's going to go to the body. that's his style. why the hell would he just throw his best weapon out the window for no reason??
Of course. Just like Pac cherry picked DLH (who 95% picked to beat DLH to beat Pac) and now Cotto, who is NOT a "gimme" win either. So Cotto isn't an ATG. So ****in what?atsch
Its just a matter of Arum making a big fight within his promotional firm and not having to share profits with GBP or any other...but no cherry picking there.
I do agree that Cotto was cherrypicked, that is very obvious as they went for him immediately after his not so great showing vs Clottey. Of course Pac could have taken the offer made by an ATG in Mosley who is considered the best WW today, who would look much better in his resume, as opposed to fighting Cotto who's just a titlist who was already destroyed by Margarito and is what well known he has had tarining camp problems, and has not looked like he did before Tony. That said, I do believe Pac has the power to hurt and possibly beat Cotto, but maybe, just maybe Roach and Pac bit more than what they can chew.
actually, providing cotto stays the underdog, this will be the first fight i ever officially bet on.... im just looking for the best way to go about it.
He couldn't go to the body against Margarito because Margarito covered that area really well with his elbows so that Cotto would go to the chin. It was the same sort of thing against Clottey.
