Ok All I ear lately is the size is too much of a diference. WTF. we are talking 10 pounds 5 pounds 2 pounds. like really WTF. Boxing is skill its a science Ive seen smaller guy ( 3 pounds ) win fights all the fuking time. When we talk about elite fighter can all the smart people out there give me a few example where size really took over skillz on BIG stage fights. remember try to stay inside 10 pound.

IMO its just plain ****ing stupid. Skillz win fight not 2 3 pounds.

Get back to me on this :)

Skills wins fights, not size. Size is being way overrated right now.

When you fight for the money they do and you work as hard as they do you do not want your opponent to have any advantage whatsoever. I dont think 2lbs. will make a difference but i dont think a fighter wants to take the chance now of days and put his career in jeopardy. just my two cents

It depends on a lot of factors. One of them is if a fighter knows how to use his size (which, I have to admit, is also kind of skill). If you watch Wlad fights (well, most of them) you will see that size difference can be quite an advantage.

Look what happened when castillo came in heavier than Corrales in the 2nd fight.

I think stature makes more of a difference than weight, but stature is generally directly correlated to weight.

Make no mistake, being the bigger man is an advantage. Is it an insurmountable advantage. No; but the more of a size discrepancy, the greater the amount of skill needed to overcome that advantage.
You do make a good point about a pound or two being a negligible advantage. Now are you considering a pound or two at weigh-in, or a pound or two at the fighter's comfortable weight, because that is also a difference maker.

That was a factor of someone being drained more than the other fighters.

    Castillo was fresher than Corrales.

exactly... Im trying to find where in history that 2 3 even 5 pounds make such a diference on Big stage title fight... Or is all the BS we are seeing right now only a media thing... Cause honestly its getting ridiculous for something that dont even seem to matter.

Im not talking about weight drain here... Im talking about in good shape fighter having a few pounds difference Fight night.

Regarding Cotto and PAcquiao, they may be the same weight, but Cotto is still the bigger man, and whose body is more adept to fighting at a higher weight. Maybe not with every fight, but with this one, weight makes a difference. A man and a woman could both weigh 140, but does that mean their strength is equal? (Not that I'm comparing Pac to a woman...trying to make a point here)
