Im a big kessler fan.. But kessler seemed very rusty in this fight.. No ring control.. He couldnt find a way, to fight perdomo in the first rounds.. I thought kesslers biggest advantage was his experience.. But he was helpless in the first 2 rounds.. He missed allot of punchs and was fighting perdomo's fight.. Kessler didnt seem quick at his feets like he normally does.. Getting hitted some times in the first 3 rounds.. He never got his nice jabs goin... The things i like about kessler (1-2 jabs, and his nice movement in the ring)- wasnt there.. The knockdown was a 1 2 kombiantion..

Can kessler use this match for the super 6? I think not.. As rusty as he was in the first rounds, that match was not enough for kessler to be "non" rusty and rdy for super 6.. He really seemed liek he was old.. No speed, no movement.. Pss.. The knockdown?? Tss.. Like andrade, ward will walk though them i think..

I hope kessler gets some good sparring before ward..

I feel kessler will win vs ward, but not the tournement, after seeing this fight.

And yes.. His very skilled jabs that normally finds its target, missed allot against perdomo.. AND lol.. Kessler couldnt hit a staggered perdomo bouncing in the ropes.. of 7 hits.. 6 in the air, and 1 on right on the buttom :)

Just back from the event. Pretty much everything happened as I expected. Had hoped for 8-10 rounds of Kessler but as soon as he opened up the fight was done. Guess he wanted to finish early to prepare for the Super Six. As I feared the only undercard fight worth watching was Laszlo Hubert vs Alexander Frenkel fight and maybe the Lucia Morelli vs Cecilia Braekhus if you're into womans boxing.

But I got to see Kessler live for a short while and that will probably be only opportunity I have to do so, so I'm happy

You can have a standing 8 count in a WBA championship match?

Yep but he jumped in and prevented him from landing the fourth which looked like it was going to take Perdomo's head off. I wish the ref would give him a standing 8 count and let the fight go on but I don't know what the rules say about this :huh

I prefer standing 8 counts to hit-wobble-wobble-stoppage. In fact the hit-wobble-wobble-stoppage ruins a lot of boxing for me.

Although he didn't look his best, there is still a lot to take out this fight. First, Kessler's jab is still ****in awesome. And second, in every fight he goes in for the kill. Thats all I wanted to see from Kessler in this fight and now on to kick Ward's ass!

You are obviously after boo a clear aa hater this being your second post putting aa in negative comparison to Perdomo. Perdomo was NOT a live challenger, did not have decent handspeed(average at best), his unpredictability you mention is more him being a southpaw, had a glass jaw(being stunned by jabs) and had a frame of a legitimate MW. Obviously much respect to Perdomo to risk his health for OUR entertainment.
My question to you is, why are you consistently bringing AA and Froch into this when Kessler's next fight is against Ward?

If you've reason to think you can't then I'll take your word for it.

I thought it was open to interpretation a bit though and pretty much as soon as a fighter was backed up to the ropes (like Perdomo,) the ref could give a standing count on the grounds that he could argue the ropes are holding him up, or held him up at some point and that could apply in any fight, as unlikely as it is the ref would order it. I wouldn't swear by that though.

I suppose it's often stated as one of the unified rules though that there's no standing 8 count so maybe you can't.

    I was probably talking rubbish.

Considering Kesslers troubles outside the ring and time off, it was a competant performance, against a slightly tricky, slightly unpredictable, but ultimately quite limited southpaw.

Just a thought, but anyone think that perhaps Kessler just wanted some ring time before going in for the kill? I've only seen the 4th round of this fight so can't really form an opinion. However from the 4th round it seemed Kessler could of finished that any time he wanted.

If that was the case I think he'd have spun it out for more than 4 rounds. I think it's just like you say Perdomo was tricky and unpredictable and it took Kessler a couple of rounds to measure him up. Some people even gave Perdomo the first two rounds, I thought Kessler won them both but he wasn't toying with him in any way. He put Perdomo down late in the third and would have finnished him then if it wasn't for the bell and he was there for the taking going into the fourth.
