Vitali is far from the only guy to suffer shoulder problems from fighting Byrd, y'know. Holyfield had the same thing happen for instance. When you're trying to rip his head off and the crafty ******* keeps slipping about, it's easy to overstrain yourself.

Vitali was landing around 2:1 but his accuracy wasn't very good due to Byrd's movement.

i just think toney is the man when he's on .. will he beat the klitchkos? we'll never know cause they won't fight him they are too busy fighting hype jobs .. i like the klitchkos but toney is right they won't even mention his name ... wlad fought chris after he had already battered him around the ring for 12 rounds why didn't he go after the wba or the wbc at the time? .. why byrd? .. easy title gain i dunno ... but still if you can fight byrd and some of the other people wlad has fought defending his title a fight with toney if not to even throw his name out shouldn't be too far out of the question!

    guys guys guys
I really like Toney and I am happy that he won....
But putting him in with any serious contender like Povetkin, let alone the Klitschkos, means real brain damage..

Just take it like it is , he cannot compete on the top level anymore...

Agreed, this was at a time when almost noone had made it out of the 2nd round with Vitali and Byrd did a good job defensively. It just annoys me when people use this "win" by Byrd to imply that an undersized fighter with little power like Toney can beat Vitali.

Toney stopped Greer who had previously only been stopped in three by Kevin Johnson. So how about a Kevin Johnson-Toney match? Toney was briefly a World Heavyweight champion when he beat Ruiz but that fight was changed to an NC.

    A voice of reason.

Toney vs either Klitschko would not even sell. They know that. THe staredown would be a joke. And not a funny one.

Toney has ZERO power at heavy, he has NO size with which deal with these big powerful fighters, and they'd make him look like raw hamburger within four rounds, and all his shoulder rolls and slipping would do would be to help him last a couple more rounds, until it being stopped.

He'd not get inside, and the jabs, alone, would pulverize him. Let alone, the powerful staright right hands that both brothers have.

Toney vs either brother is laughable. He'd have to stand on a box to even see their chins, much less, look them in the eyes. Vitali makes the 6 foot 3 David Haye look like a kid, in comparision. Imagine them trying to seriously sell a fight between a Klitschko brother, at 6 foot 7-8, and the 41 year old, former middle weight, 5 foot 10 James Toney, who was already outboxed by Sameul Peter.........(remember what the cold, inatcive Vitali did to that guy?)

    LOL
