Genaro Hernandez and BJ Flores are 2 of the better pro/ ex-pro Yank commentators.

I enjoy Watts commentary. Great accent, doesn't always get it right but for me he's the best from the UK. I like Piper, Smith and Mcrory too. There are far worse, ever heard colin Hart from the sun?:barf After the Khan, Prescott fight it looked like Piper wanted to punch him.

Watt wasnt that bad. I didnt hear him say McDermott was 'schooling' Fury. It was more the fact that Fury was such a favourite and McD was beating him....sort of saying what we were all thinking.

He was consistently saying that Fury was doing pretty well and scored the fight 96-94 to McD.......i think the majority had this score.

Skys team could do with a change though for sure.

I think Colin Hart is great actually.

Sometimes he does get a little silly with what seem like personal outbursts against fighters - but I'd take all that and more to have a guy who you genuinely believe is saying what he thinks.

Try watching Sky's coverage of rugby league, listen to Stevo sometimes :yep

On their football coverage people get pissed off with Jamie Redknapp because he nuthugs England and Spurs players - whilst guys like Graeme Souness are renowned as being very good pundits.

I am really glad of this thread. As I have said in other threads, I felt stupid for scoring the fight differently to the way he was calling it. I honestly felt that I don't know enough to disagree with an 'expert'.

One thing about disagreements rather than accord is that leads to the commentators being the stars of the show as it gets a bit pantomime villan-y.

True with Stevo, He's an Institutuion of Rugby League, sometimes he talks so much ****, i think whats he on about, but at the same time youre thinking Rugby wouldn't be the same without him. Everybody loves Stevo, youve got to, pure comedy

those two geezers on eurosport are pretty good and can be quite funny sometimes, i can remember gettin as much annoyed with jim watt as i was with cortez during the hatton/mayweather fight, plus watt also reminds me of the worst football commentator andy 'oh my wow' gray.

rawlings is good but mckenzie needs to be swapped maybe with mcguigan? i thought thaxton was awful, he cant even speak properly 'ive got a foo more chances at a title'?

i like how some of the yank commentators can transalate what the corner men are saying.

I like Jim Watt, he's got a great voice for commentary and more often than not he's right on the money ..

I like Darke and McCrory too, the only guys i cant stomach are John Rawlings, John Champion, Duke McKenzie, Richie Woodhall, Adam Smith and the whole of the HBO and Setanta teams ....
Bunce is a great guy if you want to talk about boxing in a pub over a few beers but his analysis and ramblings are all over the place
I couldnt stand Howard Cosell either

I reckon Johnny Nelson will develop into a great commentator with time, he just gets a little too excited sometimes and struggles getting his words out but with more experience he'll be good ..... Reg Gutteridge was so much better than anybody. Sugar Ray Leonard was also a brilliant analyser of fights as opposed to the completely biased thoughts of George Foreman and the 'Its all about Roy', style of analysing of Jones Jr ..

I like that dude on Eurosport too, cant remember his name but he's an ex fighter who is usually just takes the **** out of eastern european fighters and lazy american d-listers .... McKenzie and Rawlings are the worst i've ever heard, without doubt the most biased bull**** commentators ever, they might be ok if they werent commentating on British fighters, but usually with Rawlings and Duke its the standard thing were the Brit guy (Calzaghe or Khan) throw 6 shots that are all blocked and Rawlings and Duke start comparing it to a Sugar Ray Leonard combination .... They're commentary is totally ridiculous to anybody who isnt blinded by patriotism

    41 yes 41 No ... Interesting.

If he carries on any longer he will look exactly like the Emperor from Starwars.
