Now that the Pavlik/Williams fight is being slated for Dec. 5th, everything is getting turned upside down. Mosley is being bumped to January, and it's possible that he and Hopkins will be battling for the same date. HBO wants Berto vs. Mosley in January. Dibella is willing to do the fight, but wants Berto to fight in the fall/winter to keep him sharp and to prevent him from being stripped of his belt. However, HBO is unwilling to give Berto a 2009 date. Showtime is willing to give Berto a 2009 date(probably a unification but with Hlatswayo). However, it would be a 2 fight deal. The second fight would probably be against the Bradley/Peterson winner.

What do you guys think about this fight? It would be Berto's second defense against a JWW champ. However, I think either fight would be intriguing. Berto is not a big WW, and I believe his power is not as good as his record might indicate. Peterson and Bradley are both well schooled fighters and I believe both could handle the weight.

Im probably gonna get ripped a new one for saying this, but I would actually like to see Berto vs. Judah. I still think Judah has the skill to compete at a high level, and Berto, in my opinion, is around the same level at this point. Berto needs to defend against legit WW's and Judah needs a win like I need a million bucks.

Berto needs to handle his business at WW. I don't know why so much interest in Berto fighting JWW's. If Bradley wins, he should clean out the JWW division. Berto possibly should have started his career at JWW, but right now he has to stay sharp with at least one more fight before getting tortured by Mosley.

I personally don't think either Peterson or Bradley have a shot at 147. Bradley is probably the bigger man, but he couldn't deal with Berto's speed and power at the weight. Like fireal221 said, I personally need to see Berto prove himself at WW. But If this makes the Mosely-Berto fight happen I'm all for it.

Peterson or Bradley would give Berto a tougher fight than Judah. Judah is pretty much done. Judah really isn't even a legit WW anymore.

Berto/Mosley probably won't happen this January unless HBO gives Berto a Fall/Winter date. Going the Showtime route allows Berto to unify with the IBF champ. However, Showtime wants it to be a two fight deal. The only marketable fighters that Showtime has around Berto's weight range are JWWs. I'd rather see Berto/Mosley, but I think Berto vs. Peterson or Bradley is a good fight as well.

OK - I agree with the Berto/Judah fight - I've been wanting to see this too for about a 1.5 years now. Always thought it would be a good fight - plus they have some personal beef outside the ring.

As for Berto fighting Bradley/Peterson Winner - if that's the case - he should move down in weight. If he's not going to fight any of the elite WW - then he should move down in weight and stop holding the belt hostage with these BS fights. Either fight Collazo - Judah - Mosley or give up the belt and move down in weight for some better fights. He couldn't even stop Urango - when Bailey dropped him on his ass - before getting stopped himself. Berto is becoming another HBO Hype job that's not living up to the Hype.

    LOL, what a dumb thread.

Berto has had 3 defenses at WW. Only one has come against a WW, and it's a fight that many think he lost. How about Berto decides whether he values the WBC belt more or his undefeated record more. He can go on and continue fighting bum JWW at WW, but not at the expense of holding the WBC belt hostage. I mean he beats an absolute bum to get that vacant belt, fights Forbes, loses to Collazo, fights Urango, and now you want him to fight another JWW. Get out here with that dumb ****.

Team Berto should invest in some legit WW's...
Because they are losing steam, The division is passing them by. (& they have a portion of it)

Besides, 140lbs is getting pretty deep itself now, Leave them alone Berto... **** off.

****, your right. Unless it fell apart somehow, but I did not hear anything. Holding the WBC belt hostage is what it is looking like right now. Either fight Collazo or unify with the IBF title holder.
