Speed: Faster I agree, but you make it sound like he has FMJ speed. Arthur's straight right that knocked down Miranda in there second fight was as faster if not "faster" then anything Jermain has thrown. Height: Arthur Abraham: 5 feet 10 Inches. Jermain Taylor: 5 feet 11 inches. When did becoming 1 inch taller then your opponent equal a huge height difference? Reach: Arthur 72 Inches, Jermain 74 inches, I can agree JT has the reach advantage and will probably use it. Great jab: yes I also agree, great jab but if fighting a guy with defense, jabs alone won't win you fights ESPECIALLY in Germany. Quick right hand: I also agree, JT has a decent to excellent right hand, BUT on the same token, AA in my opinion has one of the best left hands in the game, ALSO, he is a counter puncher with power:deal
I have the raw footage of the fight. I can hear what the ref says. I think the whole thing stunk to high heavens in more way than one.
I have the Showtime version but I don't bragg. Yes it stunk but they never did anything wrong there. Ithought some point deductions were easy though.
That turned out to be a big problem for Miranda. Took the belt line away. He was afraid to punch to the body and had to head hunt giving AA less to defend.
He did went low a few times so he gave them reason. Still I thought it was a brave performance by Abraham to go 8 with a broken jaw.
Hi booradley. Sorry to see you and intenialButt in in fight. Your are both very good posters here. About Abraham. Well your are wrong. I like his boxing style. He has a good defense and then fights with flourish and hard and precise hits. He is in every word lethal. Miranda: Well .....the first fight Abraham did a heroic performance. Had he been a US-fighter, he would have shook hands with the president. A lot of Miranda fans (pantera2000) convinced EU-haters that there was some controversy. Abraham went to US and like a matador vs. bull fight, Miranda was rest to peace big time. Give Abraham the credit - and Miranda isn't the best fighter he has fought, only the most notable in US.
Kessler was hurt to the body by Calzaghe, I can see how Abraham can hurt him even more....he is shorter and would be better suited to get on the inside and throw murderous hooks
Kessler was not really hurt by Calzaghe, he came into the fight with a known rib-problem. As we saw in the Perdomo fight, Kessler does not normally worry about body shots because he has never had any trouble there except around the Beyer and Calzaghe fights where he was fighting a back and rib injury that would not heal.
Kessler would win a Ud, Abraham wouldn't get started until about the 4th round anyways, and even then it'll tough to win clear rounds over Kessler when Kessler already has his jab established and his punches flowing well.
Stylistically this is how I see the match-ups: Direll-Froch: Froch Direll-Abraham: Abraham Direll-Taylor: Even Direll-Ward: Direll Direll-Kessler: Direll Kessler-Abraham: Kessler Kessler-Froch: Even Kessler-Taylor: Even Kessler-Ward: Ward Froch-Abraham: Abraham Froch-Taylor: Froch Froch-Ward: Ward Ward-Taylor: Ward Ward-Abraham: Ward Taylor-Abraham: Taylor This doesn'tmean the one with the stylistic advantage will win everyone of these fights. There are several of them where I actually think this will not be th case, but then it is due to other issues such as stamina etc.
