I know they are all time greats and it is likley that most people think that they would beat the fighters of today. So how would they do?

    SRL vs. PBF
    Duran Vs. Cotto
    Hagler Vs. Kessler
    Hearns Vs Mosley

~~I think SRL would have beaten Floyd Close or it would have been a draw or split for Floyd.
For research, go to Sugar Ray versus Floyd on Youtube.
Put it on mute. Sugar Ray was being outboxed with the jab and shoulder roll for a bit.

~~Duran in his prime would have murdered Cotto.

~~Hagler would have been too much for Kessler. Even the Sugar Ray Leonard version.

~~Hearns is a better Vernon Forrest. That only comes to being a sad night for Mosley unless he hurts Hearns then it would have turned into a brawl in which Mosley wins.

They'd kick ass. They came from an era of 15 round title fights , more competittion , and a whole different attitude. Hearns , Leonard, Duran and Hagler all fought one another and a lot of other tough guys too. None of this blatant cherry picking . When Leonard came back he took on a feared and respected undisputed champion 2 weight classes up. Compare that to Mayweather who comes back against a smaller guy after less of a layoff.

If anyone could find a way to beat Mayweather it's Leonard. Ray was a little bigger and a little stronger, could adapt, and had more balls than Floyd has shown. RL W15 FM

Cotto could hardly go 12 with Mosely or Clottey. What makes you think he could go 15 with Duran?

Kessler is considerably larger than Hagler, and his career isn't over yet. Head to head right now, I'd still favor Hagler who beat better fighters than Kessler has ever faced.

Mosely would be a tough fight for Hearns. But he gets hit more than Leonard did and would have been outpointed in the same situation that Leonard had to come back from behind to win by KO.

PBF will be a problem to hit cleanly for SRL early, but eventaully, SRL will attack Floyd and have him hurt and really runnig late. SRL UD or late stoppage.

Cotto would try to out quick Duran and be countered, Duran under rated in this category. He would then try and take Duran's body and would get caught. Duran late stoppage.

Mosley's only chance would be to step inside and try to take Hearns body. Problem with that is Hearns height, reach, speed would keep Mosley at bay and leaves him vulnerable to Hearns power. Hearns by UD or Late KO. Slight possibility of Mosley hurting Hearns to the chin and finishing him off with a barrage.

Kessler would do well to stay outside and use his long jab. It would not matter in the end though. Hagler would continue to work his way inside and then it's over for Kessler. Kessler has never faced anyone similar to Hagler. KO 9th round for Marvelous.

First up, get Duran-Cotto off the list, I seriously doubt anybody is going to feel this is even close. I'm not saying that Cotto is anything other than a good fighter, and I'm not suggesting that Duran was unbeatable, but Cotto has neither the size nor the pedigree that the others might have to trouble the fab four.

Hearns-Mosley. Easiest pick. Mosley is troubled by a good, long jab delivered from a good, upright angle. Hearns wins this, though an early Mosley might have had just the power and bravado to pull off a win. Most days, though, the best Hearns beats the best Mosley.

Hearns-Kessler. Difficult to say for sure, what with the size difference. But Kessler basically lost to Calzaghe because he couldn't cope with a fairly straightforward change of gameplan. Hagler is smarter, and tougher, that Calzaghe ever was - and that's not to rile Calzaghe fans, it's just that Hagler was one a different planet to nearly any other fighter who has ever lived.

SRL-PBF. I think PBF has a real chance here. SRL would have to be disciplined; we know that PBF would be. I would say SRL wins more times than he loses, but let's not get too bleary-eyed about the past - he was beaten, and PBF is a great fighter, probably only one of six (PBF, RJJ, Lewis, Pac, Sweet Pea, Holyfield) of the past 15 years or so who would have a real argument to be considered in the top five of all time in and around their weight classes.

Everyone from the seventies/early eighties instantly beats anyone ever.
    At least on polls anyway.

SRL will have a big size advantage over floyd.
    floyd : 130- 147/154 , SRL 147-160/168
i believe he wins a tough fight , but not so sure.
Hagler beats Kessler despite size disadvantage , simply because his balls functioned better.
Hearns defeats Mosley , simply because Forrest and Wright could.
with all respect to duran , i don't know how he would have fared vs. Cotto. however , i'm sure peeman does have an opinion.

i agree that the current crop wouldn't fare so well BUT like bill poster i question hagler's ability at 168...he was a small middle and might find kessler a difficult assignment.

otherwise, it's ****ing brutal for the rest
