Yeah Iagree. It was just a single punch and Toney went back on the ropes. He smiled at Greer but usually means he indeed felt the punch.

Toney was over anxious, he wanted to get the guy out fast that is why he got clocked.

He did what he had to do against Greek, now he needs to step up the competition level. There is really nothing else to say.

Damn he was hurt real good there, no one can deny that. Just proves whoever goes in there has a shot if they get the opportunity to land. Good to see Toney shake it off and win.

A fight with either Klitschko was crazy before, now it's suicidal.

Well he got caught at the beginning of the fight, after 9 months lay off, he was rusty and he's always been a slow starter. I wouldn't say he was really hurt, looked more like he was slightly buzzed and surprised, he kept his composure and avoided punches well in the corner when Greer unleashed that barrage on him. Greer probably thought that he had hurt him. Anyways, getting caught with that punch is bad enough, but he looked ok for the rest of the fight. It doesn't mean much against some bum like Greer tho, as I said he needs 2-3 more tune-ups, against better opposition, and he needs to look good enough there. He needs to get sharper. Then we'll also know if he has got something left.

The real thing to be shocked about is his lack of leg strength. Even at that weight, the impact of his own punches made him stagger so he had to catch himself. Just doing a diet at 41 doesn't mean that you get yourself back into the strength you had at 29, that is a LONG process, I can testify to that. It took me 2 years when I was 33, no idea how long it would take now that I am 44.

that's what he weighed in at. I admit he still looked flabby in that ring, maybe he was already around 225lbs on fight night? Hope not.

Yes he was hurt good and rocked all the way to the ropes. Geer is a terrible fighter obviously and couldn't finish, Toney didn't even move his head well enough clearly being still dazed from the shot and still recovered since Geer ran out of steam after throwing 3 more shots. If it was someone else having him in that position they would have forced him to take a knee or dropped him hard.

Well, he is off-balance sometimes, but not as terrible as he was in the Samuel Peter rematch. Don't know if that has so much to do with his leg strenght, imo he just needs some more rounds and a lot of sparring to get his balance and timing back. He just didn't fight often enough the last couple years, Toney has always been best when he fought often.

I doubt it, he was little bit stunned that’s about it. Toney was hurt much more seriously in Peter fight and he didn’t take knee there.

He was rocked by that punch, it wasn't "off balance", his reaction after it and being hit again proved he was slightly dazed. Geerer lacked the ability to take advantage of it clearly and ran out of gas after the second punch he threw.

The Peter rematch Toney was rocked/hurt in the first round.
