He wasn't hurt more seriously against Peter, that's the shocking part. He was stunned in that fight and that was it, he was rocked/hurt in the first round of the rematch and stunned here and there.

This punch he just didn't see coming nor did he expect and it rocked him good. If Peter hurt him in that way he would have been able to drop him. This isn't Toney of 2 or 3 years ago, of course the punch resistance won't be the same. You got to be thankful it was Geerer, if it was either Klitschkos they would have beat the triple cheeseburger out of him.

    I disagree.
After that shot Toney went in ropes, dodged almost all of Greer’s shots and recovered very quickly.
Don’t really see what you are seeing here.

SO what, If you have never been rocked by a punch you can't call yourself a boxer. **** happens!!! The important part is he was able to recover from that punch and deliver his own.

bollocks, you're always been a massive Toney hater.
The guy is shot, at his age and with that many tough fights it's understandable that his amazing punch resistance and chin are slipping. I'd rather see him hang 'em up before he gets hurt and dropped in the same way a partially shot Eric Morales was against Pac, that was painful to watch.

He wasn't really that hurt if you take into account the sam peter fights. He was definately stunned though and one more punch would have had him ready to go.

"Well, he is off-balance sometimes, but not as terrible as he was in the Samuel Peter rematch. Don't know if that has so much to do with his leg strenght, imo he just needs some more rounds and a lot of sparring to get his balance and timing back. He just didn't fight often enough the last couple years, Toney has always been best when he fought often."

take it easy now Scar, I wasn't even referring to that punch with my last post (the one above). You got it all wrong. K-Man wrote that Toney lacked leg-strength and that's why he staggered around the ring after throwing punches himself on Saturday, and I was reffering to that. Toney was off-balance in this fight, but not as terrible as he was in the Samuel Peter rematch. Toney had no balance or timing at all in the Peter rematch, and that's what cost him that fight. That's why Peter was able to outbox him. Toney had balance problems in the Batchelder and Oquendo fights too, it was slightly better this time but he has to work on that. That's what I meant, ok?

Forget the punch, he looked slow and out of shape.

Huge Toney fan, still think his performance vs Jirov was little short of perfection.... but this, jeez...

Yeah he was rocked by some random punch but after that
... Whitaker would be proud of Toney.

I don't care about Toney being rock (or not)...Reports and articles said he looked good on that fight but...he didn't! Slow, plodding...And why the hell was the fight stopped?? Am i wrong? I don't see anything that could justify the ref stoppage...?

Time for him to retire but he wont let him fight the klitschkos seriously I would like to see Toney ****ed up badly~ well I would rather see his fans reaction to it to be honest but Toney himself is a racist pig

I personally think they made it up so the fans would think Toney has finally taken boxing seriously! Just the way Goosen was talking about james wanting the fight and that he himself didn't believe Toney was 217 ect. just saunds fishy!

I don't think he was rocked, but I think it definitley woke his ass up. Sometimes when JT get hit flush like that, even if he's not really hurt he'll play like he was to lure his opponent in. The only time I've seen JT really shook was with Sam.
