Kessler was almost stopped by Calzaghe and it wasn't from a shot to the face ... that says something about Kessler ... I don't really know about his chin either ...

Kessler is a good boxer, a good boxer from denmark ...

Thank you! And not only FROM Denmark, but has hardly fought OUTSIDE Denmark. Last time I checked, Denmark was no boxing mecca.

That's just plain made up, or at least, an extreme exaggeration.

aye man I got this fight on tape ... Kessler was badly hurt from a body shot from Calzaghe and was en route to getting stopped but the ref had warned Calzaghe of a questionable low blow.

    Youtube that partner !!

Ward ... Athen Greece ... on one of the biggest stages in a boxers career amateur or pro ... world stage (not just local stage or home field advatage) this guy was battling against some powerhouses ... the whole ****ing world ... these aren't just a particular set of fans here ... thats a bit bigger than Bremen Germany, Cardiff Wales, Syney Australia, and Las Vegas (small venue) all together !!

How many nations are competing in boxing in the olympics.

Athens Olympics, California, Oregon, Connecticut, Florida, Tennessee, Saint Lucia and Cayman Islands. Aside from Athens, that's during only 20 fights. I'm sure he would have fought in Denmark IF HE HAD A DAMN REASON TO!!!! Kessler fought a 15-12 opponent in Vegas, so how much does Vegas count? Other than Vegas, Kessler didn't leave Denmark until his 40th fight!

And time leaving before Cardiff was against Beyer (a faded champion) in Germany and that ****in dude Mudine out of Australia who doesn't like leaving his home town either ... add to that he's not a true champion. Neither of those guys outside of Calzaghe were true champions. Not to take anything away from Kessler because he's a good fight but a bit too overrated in the boxing community.

Psst... that right there shows how much you two are talking out of your ass. Among the fighters in SMW, Kessler is the one who has fought the MOST outside of his own country! He has fought several professional title fights against top 10 ranked fighters (the Ring) outside of his country in countries with different languages etc.

Ward has fought some amateur fights abroad, sure so what? Don't confuse pro with amateurs. I have a lot of respect for Ward, but shameless nut hugging could easily give Ward a bad name. Let's not start that guys because I actually think Ward is a great guy and a great fighter.

I give Ward the edge because he's more traveled and has seen a various amount of styles compared to Kessler who's only faced on dominate opponent. People are basing Kessler's credibility off of the Calzaghe fight ... thats cool but there's a reason why he's matched up with Ward the first round ... Ward is held in high regard as a fighter and is on his way up ... the expectations are higher for Ward than they are Kessler, given that Ward is an Amateur champion.

Ward is just as traveled as Kessler having put in some miles in the US, the Carribean, and Europe (Amateur) ...

i'm sure Ward some time during this tournament will travel across seas to fight ... and i'm sure he'll be prepare as he's been through it before - in a more hostile environment.

If you'd ever been to an amateur fight then you would know that the atmosphere is a bit different compared to the pro atmosphere ... and you can times that by 10 when considering international events.

I'm not on boxrec that much bro ... I have the tape when the fight between he and Calzaghe was set up on HBO ... Calzaghe was fighting Bika and there was a tape delayed snippet of Kessler beating Beyer to unify the titles.

What does Kessler have that sets him apart from Ward? ... Ward is probably a better technical boxer ... better defensively ... and the power difference has yet to be seen because right now Ward has the higher KO %
