A mega-star is a guy like Ali or Tyson. A face that everyone will recognize, Floyd is not even close to as big as them two.

    hmm says . . .

by mega-star... do you mean globally? or just U.S? or outside U.S? Mega-star fits lots of criterias but I'm thinking that mega-star means recognized mainly in the U.S. which is really biased in an assessment of fairness.

what im saying is that megastars are not always known in every country, for example a football player won't be known by the average person outside of america and a soccer player or formula 1 driver wont be known by the average american but they are still megastars. so pacman and hatton cant be considered anything else

Ha ha, at the original question.
Pacquaio in my opinion is more popular.

Delahoya was the last mega super star that ever stepped in the ring ..How can you be a mega super star when your having trouble selling tickets to your first fight in over a year ?

If he were that big the fight would of sold out in a day !

Wouldnt even class Floyd as a mega superstar.

Gotta laugh at "mega-superstar". Does that mean DLH/Tyson were "ultra-mega-superstars"?

Floyd is 1 bad performance from annonymity outside boxing. That never happened to DLH/Tyson/Ali/etc.

Floyd and Pac are the top of the sport now - argue the order of 1, 2 if you want but their ppv's will probably be pretty similar. Floyd may (may!) pull more ppv's because it's not well developed in Philipines, but Manny probably has more actual fans. Weight that however you want. But it ain't "mega-superstardom".

Mayweather and Pac are the superstars of boxing at the moment. If i had to pick only one it would be Floyd. So, in a way yes, he is the only one.

Walk up to anyone with a t.v. and they know Floyd. As great as a boxer Pac Man is, you wouldn't get the same response to the same question.

Pacquiao and Mayweather right now are on the same level...just stars.

Mega- star status would be more like Oscar De La Hoya or Mike Tyson !

They could get there if they fight each other...with the winner being officilally proclaimed Mega-Superstar !
