Is Floyd REALLY good for boxing?

Floyd Mayweather is probably the only non British boxer an average man on the street could name.

 

I see where you're coming from. Sure Floyd can generate the hype...but its a bit like being a dodgy salesman. You may be able to sell the goods well, but if those goods arent good, the customers arent going to be very happy.

Floyd suckers fans into thinking it'll be a war, there will be a KO, there really is bad blood. After the fight he starts crying, telling people how it was all just for promotion (so basically outright saying I lied to you all) and ran around the ring definitely not looking for that KO.

I can only think of 1 major fight he dissapointed in though and thats ODLH...Hatton fight was pretty entertaining and he gained the respect of the British fans.

Fans like 2 things, winners & fighters...fighters that fight. Floyd does the winning so thats half of it I guess.

 

So what if he tried to talk Lennox back so what if he jumps ship trainers do that not just Manny but all trainers tend to do that ****. Roger Mayweather talks down other fighters so I guess he is an uncle tom himself right?

Get real Manny Steward has been around this game longer than you have, the man is all business and so what if he talks up his fighters and talks down others thats what all trainers do..

as to the topic? hell yes. floyd is GREAT for boxing. 1)most talented fighter 2)most known fighter 3)only fighter who can GUARANTEE decent PPV numbers

i don't know the man but i love the boxer.

think about other boxers like floyd who were braggarts: ali, hamed, toney, eubank. people loved them. maybe floyd will be loved more when he's retired. his personality is nothing new. his skill though, is all time.

 

all i know is floyd and manny pacquaio will be one of the biggest fights in boxing history and anyone that has been involved in 3 megafights during his career can't be bad for boxing..

 

Lewis was past it and had been out of boxing for years. Lewis wouldn't have stood a chance and he knew he just saw the dollar signs.

I don't like Manny never have sucks as an announcer and offers no insight to the broadcast. RJJ was light years better and offered real insight as to what was going on in the ring. With Manny all you get is "The fight is going exactly like I said it would".:-(

I still dont understand how people say this. Oscar, Zab, and Hatton had more titles and were champions longer than Margo, Cotto or Mosley...
