It would probably get him above Morales and MAB, arguably even JCC, but not on the level of Duran in terms of Latin fighters in general.

As it stands now and if he losesto Mayweather he will be rembered as a very good boxer durung his time and a hall of famer. If he beats Mayweather he will be rembered as an all time great.

Yes, without a doubt. This would be the greatest win by any Mexican fighter. too bad it won't happen though.

On the Mexican list he would be third behind Shanchez and Chavez. If he could fallow up with a win over the Pacquaio/Cotto winner. He would be the best boxer in the history of Mexican boxing.

He has got a fair bit to go until he gets by Olivares..who is my no3...Floyd brings him up many spots, im not sure that far..depends how he beats him.

I would put him at Duran's level if he beat Floyd, especially if done impressively. That's a big if.

come on... Duran's win over Leonard is equally to a marquez win over mayweather... and look what duran did in the other 20 years... Marquez has long way to be placed above duran

It depends on where you rank Floyd though too.

Marquez is 50-4-1. When Duran was the age Marquez is now, he was 80-7.

No he wasnt. He was 31-0 when he had his first loss..And he was 71-1 when he beat Leonard.

He would have been like 80-7 in the late 80's...with wins over Marcel, Leonard, Buchanan, DeJesus, Palomino, Moore, Ishismitsu, Cueves, and more.
