Australia's Danny Green says his upcoming bout with Roy Jones Junior will be the biggest staged in Australia.

Green says the fight is far bigger than the one he had against Anthony Mundine.

"Anthony Mundine doesn't even rate on the international radar," he said.

I don't know if the fight will be bigger in 'AUST"......Mundine VS Green got 30,000 through the gate and loads of PPV.....highest in aussie history :deal

To say Mundine don't rate on the boxing scene internationally is crap....he's top 5 for the last 4 years. :deal

I actually agree with you here Ash. I don't think the fight will be as big as Mundine-Green because a lot of general sports fans would not know who Roy Jones is. Yes he is one of the best ever but general sports fans don't follow boxing in this country.

Mundine may be a no mark on the world scene as Green says but Mundine is still a better fighter than Green will ever be and he proved this in the ring against Green with the whole of Australia watching. So basically Green and Mundine are both full of ****.

In the grand scheme of things, this fight will be bigger than Mundine/Green, and Mundine doesn't even register on the world scene.

The rest of the world didn't really care about that fight at all. No big overseas networks were interested in it, and it was a non title fight between guys who had been exposed before.

It wont draw as big a domestic interest than Mundine/Green, but there will definitely be much more overseas interest in this one.

I liken this to when Australia played Brazil in the football world cup. It definitely wasn't our most important game in Australia's history, but it drew by far a bigger tv audience than any of our other games, simply because Brazil was there.

If Danny's comments are taken as is said then it will most likely be the biggest staged here.
PPV in an international market would slaughter a PPV in the Aussie market alone.
Who cares about the odd few thousand bums on seats either way....RJJ V Green will pull an international market where Mundine V Taxi Driver would pull sqaut internationally and judging by many recents post here his days of even pulling a local PPV are over.

Every time Mundine gets mentioned in the same thread as Green for whatever reason he still gets flagged a top intenational boxer....
Get real....he has platued to complete mediocrity and no one here can say otherwise cause lets face it.....one test in 3-4 years being Geale is hardly the form of a rising star.
It was Geales test and in the eyes of many he passed and Mundine fell over the line to get the victory....hardly convincing for an international top 5 boxer.

Your right that PPV is an international market but no one buys Roy Jones PPV's anymore. A Green-Roy Jones PPV would do nothing numbers wise outside of the Australian market imo. Keen boxing fans overseas might be bothered to catch it on a stream or download it but they won't be buying it imo.

Stupid words for Green to say about Mundine, whilst Green signs up for his RJJ bout.

This quip is of no value, shows the girlyness of Green.

I don't have much time for Green; Mundine thashed him, knocked Green off the map.

If Mundine does retire, then good on him, he could have done better I think, if he had had enough gut to have stepped up to the chopping block, but having said that, maybe he wanted to, but was not able to get the chance. Who knows what or who he tried to have a go at....we punters out here, have not the information to know.

One thing Mundine does know, as well as the rest of Australia, that he beat the **** out of Green that night

Green and RJJ....Green sounds so excited I am caused to wonder, will both be trying?
