I made Ali the winner in the 2nd fight but i cant remember by how much. I had Ali winning the 3rd fight to by about 2 rounds i think, although it has been a helluva long time since i saw it.

I seem to remember Ali winning both on workrate, Norton did too much waiting for me and got outworked in a lot of rounds, he would mount this attacks in bursts and he was landing the harder punches i agree with that, but i just think Ali won more rounds with his activity.

Now the Jimmy Young fight i do think Ali lost, Norton to lost to him imo.

I believew Ali won two of the three encounters. Norton blew the third fight by not closing strongly. Ali hurt Norton in that fight, as well.

Ali was in his physical prime up until the Foreman fight, Why would Ali be washed up in his late 20s or early 30s when he had 3 years away from boxing to let his body rest and before his 3 year forced retirement he was rarely hit?

Norton sholud of won all 3 fights, any time Ali did anything in a fight he was given extra credit for. Norton was the aggresive through out the fight and should of gotten credit for it. Some rounds Ali picked it up but that shouldn't have been enough to give him the rounds or the wins in the fight.

I thought Norton won all three, to be honest. Although the 2nd fight was arguably a fair decision for Ali, or a draw.

Ali wasn't absolute prime, but he was the dominant heavyweight of the 1970s - apparently a "golden age", many say the best heavyweight era ever - and 1973 was smack bang in the midst of Ali's best period of his second career ('72 - '74 ?). He wasn't exactly old.

Got to give Norton credit. And if the judges had made it 2 losses out of 3, or even 2 losses and a draw, which could easily be argued, Ali's reputation would be under heavy fire. Ali got a few decision wins that could have gone the other way, and if they had people would be jumping on his case saying he was "too inconsistent". Judges seem to decide the legacy of the fighter to some extent.
