Winning and loosing is part of the game and if you aint got a L on your record youre either a cherry picker or havent fought the best competition out there. Hopkins has losses, Pac has losses, even Duran and Leonard. The fact is that Marquez has never been dominated and has never lost a clear fight. He has improved in every fight. Let me tell you something else in his first encounter with Pac, JMM showed to the world his display of masterful counter punching. If you ask me who would I want to be that night I would deffinitely choose Marquez it was a masterful performance in his prime.
the question was if JMM should be undefeated and i said no he shouldnt,so what if i dont remember everything that happened in that stinker. the main thing i remember is that i tought Norwood won.
I thought JMM deserved at least a draw in the 2nd Pac fight. I go back and forth on the first Pac fight. I haven't seen the John or Norwood fights, and judging by how awful those fights sound, I'm not sure I want to. I'll have to pick up a six-pack to suffer through the Norwood fight on youtube and see what I think.
on the same token though, manny is also lucky the ref didnt take a point away for hitting marquez when he was coming up from that knockdown....:good
Well indeed you can make a case for it. The pro debut thing is fishy since the doctor who stopped it or said the other guy can't fgiht on was part of his team so that was jobbing him.I did not see the fight though,just what I read and heard. I thought he beat Norwood by 3 points.The fight was kinda boring,Norwood only tried to catch him with his sneaky left after he knocked him down in the 2nd.I thought it kinda backfired on him since Marquez landed and threw more and I thouht he outboxed him.Koncked him down hismelf in the 8th an dwas robbed of a KD(but in a round he was losing though).You could make a case Norwood won it(and I have no problem with the 114-112 score for Freddie) but the 2 scorecards that were wide were horrendous. I thought he decisevely beat John,he came forward all fight,he landed the cleaner,harder shots throughout and had 2 bogus point deductions against him to probably cover the bogus scoring.Still Ihad him up by 2 points(8-4 in rounds). I thought he beat Pacquiao in th rematch too.Close fight but I had him up by 2 points.He just did better throughtout the fight and outboxed Manny,I've scored many times and sometimes I went in tere with the thought of scoring it for Manny but still Ithought Marquez won it.To me he won that one decisive too.
A robbery no, a bad decision yes. The fight was close but with the KD it's hard for me to score it for juanma. That being said, I haven't rewatched it since the first time I saw it so I haven't had time to really analyze it without a gallon of alcohol in me.

Its funny how people always tend to lean towards the boxer who lands the KD. These are 12 round fights people and although they are close you have to score every single round. Cotto Vs Clottey = Cotto because of the KD Pac Vs JMM = Pac because of the KD
Dude I remember the fight. I'm just saying that I haven't watched it since the first time I saw it. There have been fights where I go back after seeing it and when taking the time to watch it more than once or watching it alone without people yelling and having time to pause and rewatch certain parts, I've changed my opinion about the fight. That being said back to your original thread topic, I've never bought in when people say the whole "should be undefeated" thing for a boxer with multiple losses. One bad decision is one thing, 2 is another, keep going and it's just an indicator that you aren't pushing it to the next level that it takes to win fights sometimes.
Hmm i felt he lost both fights with Pac by a point but he did beat Chris John and who knows what happened in his first fight. Unfortunately i havent seen the Norwood fight but the consensus is that he won that one to

Well I think it will be a good entertaining high skill fight with Mayweather-that being said I can't see Marquez winning.Think he is really gonna get beaten. But he getting good money and is already 36 and must think about retiring. Like you said you could make a case he is udefeated.
