This fight could well be a dud, a borefest. But not necessarily.

Marquez might spring the upset. Any decision is bound to go to Mayweather though.

I dont think the size difference is relevant. Mayweather's not much bigger at all. Longer arms, but no severe advantage.

I, for one, am really looking forward to this one. Mayweather is the bigger man, but let's not forget that like Marquez, he started at superfeatherweight. I am looking forward to a technical master class. JMM never backed down from a challenge and has an incredible ability to adapt. I think he'll lose the early rounds, perhaps even with a knockdown, but come on strong mid-fight. The wildcard here is Mayweather, who has been inactive for two years and seems to have half-morphed into his father, which is not an indicator of a healthy lifestyle. He is a gym rat though, and i like that. You know both guys will be 100% ready to go when the bell rings.

It will be a big letdown, i predict, because of mayweather's customary way of fighting on top of all the previously listed advantages that he has agewise, size, speed and talent. Again, i am hoping, against the grain, that jmm pulls off the upset, but it isn't going to happen guys.

I think Marquez needs to push Floyd into a long fight. Floyd will look to potshot and box from the outside, but Marquez needs to box smart early and then turn on the after burners with a lot of pressure later in the fight. It will be his only chance.

I dont see this potshot business some of you are talking about......Marquez is a busy combination puncher, and against Pac who is very quick, fast and powerful.....Marquez was'nt at all shy about stepping in to throw his combinations....

Mayweather may very well win, but I dont see him doing it the way he did it against Baldomir and or DLH for example......
.....from my perspective, Marquez' workrate will force Mayweather to have to be busier than he probably likes to be.....

.....only God knows if Mayweather will be able to keep up with a high workrate output.

Marquez is'nt DLH, I believe Marquez will land alot more cleaner shots than did DLH.....

My question mark in this fight is can Mayweather handle workiing at a high workrate pace......and can JMM handle the weight to be able to implement a high workrate pace in the later rounds???

JMM is a very live dog imo!

Nothing will make me happier than to bring up some of this forums posts that JMM did'nt have a chance and slap your faces with it!:yep

THis is a big step up for Marquez. Floyd is physically much bigger and mentally its going to be a bigger task for Marquez as well.
Floyd is very good at making active fighters confused by potshotting from the outside, but I do agree the pace could be a factor in the second half of the fight if he makes it that far.

While he's a lot easier to land on than Marquez, Hatton was busy, pressured with quick feet, and Floyd's main gameplan was still to potshot. I think it will be again with Marquez.

In my book Mayweather will win a decision by about 8 rounds to 4. The advantages he has in speed, youth and size will be decisive. Having said that, Marquez will have his moments and will bank some rounds by jabbing and moving out of reach of Mayweather's potshots. I too would like to see Marquez spring the upset but can't see it for a moment. Should be a fascinating fight, whatever happens.

No chance, I know the weigh in can be misleading but JMM is getting a beating and getting stopped
