The Irrational Hatred of Mayweather Analyzed

I stopped reading when you tried to say I hate Mayweather because he's black.
I hate Mayweather because he's an *******. And because, his fighting style is sort of dull.

 

I was giving you my theory to the title of your thread why the irrational hatred for mayweather

race has nothing to do with it a majority of the time for the folks that hate him....its got to do with his carear choices....and some stupid people hold his personality against him....

he is fighting a carear 126-130 fighter when he is former lineal WW champ, that's a reason to question this guy as a serious fighter...

he has been lineal WW champ, and has NEVER fought a true WW outside of baldomir, fighting baldomir is not his fault, but not fighting any true WW before or after is the problem.....then the blind floyd fans say well hes a small WW.....

I never want to hear that excuse again after having a contract that is different from your opponents where he has to weigh 144, but its ok you can come in higher, when once again you already fighting a CAREAR feather and super-featherweight....why add fuel to the fire so to speak?

NOW you see why people can't stand floyd mayweather, it's his carear choices....

 

On the other hand people that are not used to hanging around with the black community probably don't understand that its kinda and I say kinda a culture thing to ***** out and act flashy and all...its not meant to **** people off, its just a way of expression for blacks...

I was around many my entire life and I get their drift but that way of being ain't workin' on a large scale and its not a race reason but rather the persona expressed that don't fly with most...

 

FYI, in general the Haitian and Jamaican decent are more naturally cocky and flashy by nature than the African decent...

 

I'm not a fan, I don't post endless posts trashing him either. I acknolwedge his obvious talent but a combination of the following put me off him, and clearly bother some people a great deal more than it bothers me.

1. Generally dickheaded personality. Can anyone not see how his OTT, bragging, money grubbing, wannabe gangster persona would annoy people?

2. Lack of wins agaisnt top fighters in his later career. I think this gets overstated by some, but there are a lot of guys he could have fought but didn't. His early career was better, but after he went past lightweight his opponents became much more carefully selected.

3. This comeback fight is just a huge load of bollocks. I'd have more respect for him if he came back after 2 years against a good but not great welterweight, like say Luis Collazo. Instead it's against a guy from 2 weight divisions below, who doesn't have the style to really threaten him anyway, and now there's all this business with deliberately weighing more than he was supposed too and just paying the fine he can easily afford to gain yet another advantage over Marquez. This fight does not pertray him in the best light.

 

there is a significant size difference, but i'm not one to cry mismatch based on that alone....its the principle that instead of floyd fighting a WW, hell, he could have fought collazo and berto and not got as much flack as he is getting for fighting marquez....but he chooses to fight marquez.....when other guys have called him out for years.....

Race has nothing to do with it.....boxing is supposed to bring people together of all races, IMO its the most diverse sport on the planet.....

But we all know that if Mayweather was white, he'd be a big sports name in every American household. He even said so himself. Whose playing the race card here? :yep

 

The reason i dont like Mayweather is simple, he refuses to fight the best fighters consistently. Any Boxing fan should be against that if they are a real fan of the sport because the name of the game is entertainment, what is entertaining about watching Floyd fight big money fights you know he holds all the advantages in.

 

Just look how much **** is given to white dudes like :

Joe Calzaghe : His legacy is firmly degraded by the boxing community for his resume...

Vladimir Klitschko : He's a top dog at Heavy but most despise him because of how he boxes...

Etc..

 

Coming from a fellow black man i feel the race issue is invalid. As a pbf fan, I understand where all the hate comes from. Its not because ppl hate him as a person so much, but that everybody knows what he is capable of doing, yet he doesnt do it. What i mean by that is everyone in here feels that he was capable of making weight, but he didnt. Everybody thinks he is capable of beating the top welters, but he doesnt seem interested. There is a saying that to be the best you got to beat the best and the best clearly isnt marquez, nor baldamir, nor hatton. Im not a hater at all because floyd is in my top 3 fav fighters, I am just stating the obvious. Floyd pulled a fast one on us and he loses any credit for this fight. Im just ready for him to get the W and move on to fight the winner of Pac vs. Cotto (hopefully). He needs to start proving to everyone what everyone already knows, which is he is the best p4p in the world. Until then, he is gonna get hated on.

 

What other fighters have called him out? Uh...Margarito? Paul Williams?

What about when he called out Winky Wright and when Winky stepped up, he ran as far away as he could?
