Jmm is coming off 2 very good wins and is quite an accomplished boxer that is going to get into the hall of fame. he is renown for being an accurate fighter who is always well conditioned. Dont belittle a great peformance from a great fighter because you wont give proper respect. This was a master performance. PBF's defense was incredible. he held Marquez to the lowest % of landed punches ever in the history of compubox.
I don't like the little ****. Never have. And he demonstrated why in the post fight conference. However, I have no doubt that he has been for some years now, the best in the business. But he's still what many on her describe as a *****. His last three fights were against smaller guys (Hatton, Marquez), or guys at the end of their careers (Oscar and JMM), or both (JMM). I'm not saying he shouldn't have fought them (actually, I am in regards to JMM) but he should have fought OTHER fights as well. He could easily have squeezed in Cotto and Margarito as well in that period, and perhaps even williams and Mosley. He had the goods to beat all of them. Mosley would have had the best chance, but again, Floyd would probably have prevailed. If he fights Shane now, it's a bit late in Shane's career for him to get full credit. Instead, he winds up fighting a guy who was clearly much smaller. And while he clearly showed his skills, he did not show much balls. Even tonight, he should have had the KO, but he was too cautious to take the necessary risks to finish off JMM, who was there for the taking almost anytime after round 6. Pac faces Oscar, Hatton nd now Cotto. These are all risky efforts for him. (Sure, with hindsight, we can say Oscar was weight drained and Hatton was small and shot, but Pac took the risk.) And JMM stepped up to Floyd, and came to win. Floyd, talented as he is, is missing the fights that would define him. Oscar and Shane are both less talented, but if all three careers were to end now, both would outrank Floyd in terms of greatness. Their resumes are simply better. Calzaghe's career suffers from a lack of great opponents, but he either fought or tried to fight whoever was there. Same for RJJ. There just wasn't any serious opponents there for him that he didn't fight. (Save DM, and in that case, they avoided each other). Floyd passed on Shane, Margo, Cotto, Williams and others. He has a very decent resume, but it could have been so much better. He still has time to rectify the situation, but given his choice of comeback (fighting a little guy at a catchweight and then simply ignoring the agreed weight limit and ignoring questions as to why), it doesn't look like he wants to take the risks necessary for greatness. I have no doubt he can beat PAc, if and when they meet. I don't expect they will. But he needs to beat some prime great fighters at 147 and even 154. And he needs to start working on growing a set. He's one of the three or four best ever pure naturally talented boxers. But his legacy is probably not going to place him in the top 20 in terms of greatness.
P4P number one for not making the weight and not stopping the guy you didn't even TRY to make weight against after dropping him in the 2nd? Bull - ****.
That was the biggest bully match I've seen in a long time. Bringing a guy up at two divisions by claiming its at a catchweight and then coming in over the weight. ****ed up. You guys are ****ed up for condoning such bull****.
Perfect? :rofl Even Floyd wouldn't say that. He looked as bad as he's ever looked in many ways. Completely dominating a smaller guy with every possible disadvantage is an accomplishment, yeh? :rofl
Floyd should retire. Its pretty much too late. This fight was a lose lose and probably did not do good ppvs although I know the urban market bought this up from the facebook activity. If he fights Shane, they will say he waited too long and that he is old and washed up. If he fights Pacman and kicks his ass he is picking on the smaller man again(post fight reaction). The only guys to face is low money guys that I dont see him facing b/c he cant carry a big money PPV without some kind of angle. If it was me I would say **** that ungrateful ***** of a sport and retire.
Duran gave Hagler all he wanted. Duran started his pro career at 119. he moved all the way to middleweight and gave on of the top 3 all time middles eveything he wanted. I guess hagler had no accomplishment beating Duran either. Great fighters move around in weight and are always competitive. If you guys are too ignorant to see that then you will always be ignorant.
Floyd is no Hagler, nor Duran. Floyd only fights when he has every single advantage possible. Don't bring up DLH. He was old and had slowed down considerably.
What about Duran vs Hagler? You could say that was a bully match. the natural size difference was immense.
Randomly pulling some example from boxing history doesn't work, tool. :rofl Are you seriously that ****ing stupid? Let's just apply ANYTHING to ANYTHING while we're at it... Nevermind the details. atsch
It's funny how people confuse running with slipping/dodging punches. Floyd was right there, JMM just couldn't touch him.
Floyd fought DLH at 154. Oscar was much bigger than Floyd. He just demolished Mayorga. Diego Corrales was much bigger than Floyd, so was J.C. Castillo. Gatti was noted for putting on a lot of weight after making fight weight.
