 Someone like Vernon Forrest.Could Mayweather have beaten him in
Vernons prime? I dont think so. I would love to see mayweather fight
someone with more reach and with good speed.Thats when I will think
he is the PFP king whenever he defeats someone that has a physical
advantage height/reach with talent to go along with it.

Someone like Vernon would have given him problems. He had the physical tools to pepper Mayweather and take any replies.

Mayweather's shoulder roll and punch selection/reportoire is a real conundrum though. Even though what he does is very basic on the surface, it's executed so well, both defensively and offensively.

Paul Williams and even Margarito would. Taller bigger guys that throws millions of punches.

Yeah, Shane took Margarito out, but I think Margarito will walk right through Floyd's punches like he did Cotto. With that workrate and overwheling height and reach advantage, I don't think Floyd could even get set.

There you go again with that dumb ****.:rofl:lol: You can't throw punches in bunches against PBF and not pay a price. Not to mention it's hard as hell to land even one clean punch let alone a combo. Throwing more gives a master counter-puncher like PBF more oppurtunties for counters you're playing right into his hands.:deal

That's exactly what you need to give Floyd major trouble. Natural pressure fighters that throw high volume and are physically larger & stronger. If PBF can't fight at the measured pace that he prefers he could possibly be worn down later in the fight. Coupled with judges that like aggression and high activity and PBF might just lose a UD.

What it takes to beat Floyd is a well rounded fighter that can do most things well: e.g. good tight guard, good speed, good jab, good body puncher, decent power, good footwork etc.

The top handful of welterweights of the last decade would have beat him, but B level guys like a 40 year old Shane and Miguel Cotto are not going to get the job done.

Williams is way too lax on the defense to beat Floyd. Floyd would embarass him worse than the C level Carlos Quintana did.

I agree, I however believe a fighter such as Vernon could use reach as an advantage
and force Mayweather to fight a different fight, any fighter such as Vernon Forrest
caliber/build/style will give him trouble especially if they have a good jab and can edge
rounds with the reach and maybe even punish his arms and body with whatever power
    shots they can get in.

Pac's speed and explosiveness combined with Margarito's toughness and relentlessness

A fighter with good head movement and defense. Floyd will fight flat footed more to compensate for missing to many shots and , he slows his punches down. bad new is he put more steam on his shots but he's there to get hit often.

Noone around today can do it. Not that last night's fight proved anything at all, but the Welterweight division simply isn't and hasn't been good enough to deal with him. An old, faded Shane would receive a boxing lesson due to his increasingly slowed feet and defensive reflexes. Cotto is just too damn basic and poor defensively. Williams is probably too big to even fight at Welter anymore, and if he could Floyd would just pull a Quintana on him, X2.

I'd like to think Pacquiao could do it, but at this point the best I could see him doing is winning about 4 rounds. A smaller fighter isn't going to get the job done. How I wish Floyd fought in a different era.

    A.K.A. Pac.

You should've just said Margo's size. That's pretty much a guaranteed recipe for success against Floyd. I just don't think Pacquiao is quite big enough to do it.
