I am sorry, this sounds like lame excuses. Nobody cares about the past. Mosley will fight him NOW, he even looked desperate for the fight yesterday. He is an ATG, a warrior, this is fans fight.

Come on now. PBF has not fought an elite welterweight, yet he has been in the division for many years. Mosley: war with cotto, beat Margarito, fights Clottey.PBF would never have the balls to fight someone like Clottey, he is big, iron chin and punches hard. Mosley is a real fighter.

They say Mayweather is more skilled than Toney. Mayeather seems to be troubled an afraid by size (see DH, Castillo, reluctant to face big guys )Toney is not troubled by size, he moved up 50 pounds or so. How can anyone say PBF is more skilled than Toney?

He hasnt done that:huh;youre talking like its past-tense,giving Floyd plaudits for something he hasnt even attempted or achieved yet:nut

    Moreover,as said,the PFP2 was a blown-up 36 yearold FW.
Sure Floyd is brilliant, but lets get some perspective here.

Blade is just telling it how it is.

Mayweather is a fantastic, exceptionnally skilled boxer, I'd say he's the P4P #1 boxer in the game, but he's not the P4P #1 fighter - at least not in my book. Yes, I know he looks great in the ring (well most of the times he does) but that's when he is in his comfort zone. Like when he faces a 36 year old lightweight like JMM - who is a great fighter no doubt - but who is out of his league at WW. And Floyd doesn't like to leave his comfort zone. When he does, things might not turn out as planned. Castillo arguably beat him - ok that was a long time ago and not at WW. DLH gave him trouble - ok this was 3 lbs above the WW limit. Even Ricky Hatton gave him a tough fight while it lasted because the brit was being so physical. I'm not even saying that Floyd can't beat bigger men (like most ATGs have), or other great boxers who are his size - in fact I believe he can beat them - but it's a fact he doesn't want to face them. Because Floyd facing other great boxers who are his size would mean that he has to take a risk, and taking risks is something Money May doesn't like at all. Which is sad for us boxing fans.

JMM didn't have to make weight.

He was more comfortable than he's been in years.:yep

The WWs will get get beat and quite easilly.

It will be fun to watch and wait for all the excuses.

Floyd has taken more risks than anybody in boxing.:deal

He doesn't even set weight restrictions on his fighters...like Fanny Pac..

    .

JMM is better than Alphonso Gomez..Micheal Jennings...and Golden Johnson..At LEAST Floyd didn't fight one of those BUMS.

The Pinoy Princess is next...let's see if that cross-eyed cocksucker answers the call.:hey

Can't blame the money man for putting off the Mosley fight. Why not cash in against another great small man in which would be the biggest fight since DLH/Trinidad. Mayweather would most likely fight Cotto, if he beats Pac, before Mosley anyway. Afterall, Cotto does hold a win over Sugar Shane.

Obviously not worth the risk against a true WW. Mayweather/Mosley is going to happen just not immediately.

I thought Mayweather/Marquez would be more competitive but when it comes to Pac, Mayweather is just going to be too big. He looked a lot more muscular compared to the Hatton fight. Too bad he didn't weigh in last night..

He's taken some risks, not many, and he occasionnaly struggled when taking these risks. Floyds choice of opponents reflects his fighting style - safety first. And remember I'm all for defensive fighters.

For being an ATG and supposedly P4P #1 fighter, he doesn't take enough risks.

Floyd doesn't have to set weight restrictions on his opponents because often they're moving up to fight him at WW anyways, ok? He himself has moved up to SMW only once, to face a faded DLH, and he had problems there. Floyd is a natural WW.

Seems like he doesn't set weight restrictions on himself either - "144lbs, **** it, I'll just pay the fee". If it had been the other way round, JMM not respecting the weight limit and bulking up to 146lbs (which would have been nonsense of course, he'd only lost even more speed), then Floyd would have been the first to make a drama out of it.

I don't even believe a 38 year old Mosley could beat Floyd at this point. But he hits hard, he's a natural WW, like Floyd, and he has a granite chin. Three attributes that Floyd doesn't like in a fighter, be it Mosley, Margarito or whoever. Ok, Floyd faced big bad DLH, not because he really wanted to, but because the payday just was SO big. And he struggled.

One observation I made: A faded Whitaker arguably did just as good, if not better, against a prime DLH as a prime Mayweather did against a faded DLH.

i really do commend mosley for getting in the ring after the fight and putting floyd on the spot, he looked pretty rattled, i dont believe hes scared but i dont think he wants anything to do with shane which is a shame because he must be the only person in the world right now who doesnt want the fight to happen

Of course fighting Pacquiao instead of Mosley will be the smarter move, it's more lucrative and less risky - well I don't even know if it's less rsiky. But Floyd avoiding all these other natural WWs has been going on for some years now, he's regarded as a cherrypicker (and not totally without reason), and it will hurt his legacy. I want to see Floyd face not only great opponents - he's done that, but far from always - I want to see Floyd face great opponents his size. There are enough of them around in the WW division, he doesn't have to look for guys like JMM to step into the ring against him.

Besides, it's perfectly clear why there was no weigh-in on fight night. JMM was probably still at 142lbs, him gaining more weight would have been pointless, but to me Floyd looked to be closer to the SMW limit than the WW limit. Floyd weighing nearly 10lbs more than JMM wouldn't have looked good, right?
