First of all most of you know that I would love to see this guy lose and perhaps bring him down to earth as I love his skills but I hate his cocky ass (or at least what he plays in front of the camera).

After last night, I really thought that Marquez had a technical opportunity to make Floyd think twice in some circumstances but right by the rounds 3 & 4 I realized that Marquez simply doesn't have an answer to really put Floyd in this circumstances. Even if Marquez was 2 inches taller and naturally bigger I don't think he would have the proper technique to make Floyd think twice while in the operating room.

So what now? Who has the best chance to come close to beat FLoyd? Everybody talks about Pac and I know styles makes fights but Floyd being the naturaly bigger guy and the one that has more skills in his arsenal I just don't see Pac having the proper answer. Plus I don't think that PAC will pass Cotto in his next fight to begging with. So that leaves the following contenders:

SSM, Cotto, Berto or somebody naturally bigger that can come from 154lbs perhaps like PW. I don't put Clottey in this list just because I don't think that Clottey throws the amount of punches necesary to really bother Floyd.

For you, realistically speaking... Who has the best chance to beat Floyd? I honestly feel that PW has a great chance and although he beat Quintana in his second fight... I see Floyd giving him more problems that perhaps what he can handle. On the other hand I think that SSM might be a great opponent but might be a little past his prime for this but I am not counting him out as I feel that his trainer can come with a great plan. Berto might have some answers with his speed and combinations but he is too green to really break FLoyd's defense and as for Cotto... he probably has a much better chance but not with his current corner. He really needs a more experience and tactical corner in order to really have a better chance to beat Floyd.

    Your thoughts...

Paul Williams is the only legit fight for Floyd Mayweather right now...Money is so good he should never be in the ring with a fighter and have any physical advantages ever again...Paul has him beat in every category except speed...After Paul walks thru Kelly Pavlik if Floyd was to fight him and beat him nobody could make excuses and Money would finally get the respect he deserves....He would become a top 20 ATG fighter....Any other fighter ppl will make excuses for saying Mosley is to old, Pac is too small and Cotto was ruined by Rito....So if Floyd wants show the world he is one of the if not the greatest fighter of all time fight Paul Williams

Williams hasn't made the WW limit in over a year and it would be more like two years and some change before that fight would happen. I think the man would hurt himself next time he tries to weigh in at 147. If anything he should push for a 150 pound catchweight. He has the best chance just not at the WW in my eyes. The fight would be 50/50.

Pac or Mosley got about a 25% chance of beating Mayweather. Pacman is too small and there is a strong chance Mosley will get shutout like Marquez. Cotto doesn't have much of a shot either.

I think Cotto has the best chance, as a good, well balanced, boxer-puncher.

Mosley would be in with a chance as well, I suppose.

I can't see Pac beating Mayweather. I think it would be a similar fight to last nights.

I would say Williams, Mosley, Pac, and Cotto; in that order.

I think Paul Williams beats Floyd.
    Cotto has a good chance.
Mosely does not have a good chance. Mosley's legs are gone, Floyd would run circles around him.

Williams has the best chance because of his sheer size.

I agree with this, but I don't think Shane would get shut out like Marquez and I think it's a better shot than 25%.

I hope Mayweather Mosley does not happen because I want to see Mayweather lose or even come close to losing a fight. Mosley will not make that happen and i'll put money on it.

Mayweather Williams would put Mayweather to the test but imho, this fight is very unlikely to happen for Mayweathers next fight.

What WOULD be more much more exciting is Mayweather Pacquaio. Unlike Marquez, Pacquiaos puncher power has translated into WW and Mayweather WILL respect him unlike he did vs Marquez. BUT I don't think Pacquaio will make it out clean from Cotto. I predict a UD for Cotto maybe controversial SPLIT but Cotto has the ability for a late round tko win 9 or 10.

And I do believe Cotto being (a natural welter weight with respectable power and boxing skills) has what it takes to beat Mayweather BUT like the thread starter said, will need a stronger corner.

Usually the undefeatable will be beat by someone no one expects, it will surprise us. By this logic its hard to tell. I could see it being Pac, Clottey, or Mosley.
