Mayweather probably came to the ring 160, just carb loading.

Ability to dehydrate yourself and then put it all back in doesn't change ****.

If these fights were same day weigh in - do you think anyone mentioned above except Floyd and Pacquaio could make 147?

Could have cut 2lbs, he had his contract changed to 147ls earlier in the week, he deliberately didn't make 144.

  4. Very true. If we had same day weigh in, Mayweather, Pacquiao and Zab Judah would be fighting at 147. Where as Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Cintron, Quintana, Collazo would be fighting at 154.

    1) Yes, most of the fighters around at welterweight could still do it - and there would be more deaths/serious injuries in the ring, hence why we don't have same day weigh-ins anymore. Do your research sonny....

    2) It's irrelevant whether they can do it or not, because we do not have same day weigh-ins. No-one is breaking any rules, so your question truly is irrelevant.

    Try harder. A lot harder.

As for "Why didn't he come in at 144"

The way I read it, Floyd wanted the advantage in the ring. He didn't know how easy this fight would end up becoming for him. I think if he really cared, he could have got to 144 - hell, half an hour to an hour on a treadmill would cut those 2 lbs.

600k out of a 8 figure salary? Not that important compared to maintaining his winning streak against a guy who many thought was a lively challenger before hand.

So Gatti jumping off the scale on the weigh-in before the needle stopped had nothing to do with anything. The weigh-in was seriously shady, that's my problem with the fight.

If it wasn't, than Gatti wouldn't have done anything wrong weighing what he did on fight night. Guess what? Brain injuries have occured in fights where there was no real fight-night discrepency, and plenty of them.

Floyd Mayweather doesn't get enough credit for his abillity and tallent. Many fans do not appreciate a defensive boxing clinic.

He gets all the credit in the world for his talent - just not based on this fight.

He barely made the limit in this fight that alone should tell you, especially when you consider he has been in the gym training for this fight atleast six months.

Floyd can make 144 but chose not to. He walks around 151-152. I find it hard to believe he can't lose 8 pds.

Floyd's most comfortable and effective weight appears to be around 147 right now so he's a natural welterweight.

It's not that difficult to lose weight, with his team of dietians, nutritionists, they would have formulated 144 down to a tee.
