Floyd Mayweathers speed...

    Is it just me or is Floyd Mayweather's pure hand speed overated. Don't get me wrong I know he is fast, and I believe he is the best boxer around, but it seems like alot of casual fans don't seem to realize that it isn't the speed itself that makes him seem fast. It's his timing. It seems if you watch closely when he is about to throw a big punch that lands flush, the other fighter is doing something like about to take a step in, or throw a show himself. Thats when Floyd throws his punch. If his only reason of being good was just his pure speed, than Zab Judah would have beaten him hands down. He is a great fighter in many aspects which I don't think alot of people realize.

    I don't know it was just making me mad whenever people say "FASTEST HANDS IN BOXING". Which I don't think is actually true. There are plenty of fighters that have had better actual handspeed and not turned out as well because they lacked the complete set of tools. Anyone else feel this way?

    Not as fast as Pac or Khan imo in terms of combos. What floyd has is perfect timing so his quick punch when landed counts.

    If it is not as fast to me he got to marquez just as good are better than pac.

    He is fast, just not the fastest. Judah was noticeably faster when they fought but that doesn't make Floyd slow, and as said above, he has sublime timing.

    Yeep. He's fast but not super fast. He makes himself look fast because of his timing. It's superb.:good

    Floyd has awesome foot and hand speed..His timing is also there as well....i dont think his speed is overrated by ne means
