When i watched the fight properly and not from a stream i was expecting to see marquez being hit with 4-5 punch combos but it turns out mayweather fought safety first, a good strategy perhaps considering the quality of opposition. I still think pacquiao an even fight though despite floyd having physical advantages.

5-1 Underdog and i wanted him to win but after Floyd pulled his weigh in **** how the Hell did JMM even last 12 rounds.

Great stuff and much respect now go back to 135 and 10 pounds lighter were you belong and will be great again.

its tough coming up two weight classes to fight someone of pbfs (like him or not) caliber. the fight was a surprise to no one, except perhaps the most ardent jmm fans. everyone in boxing knew it was a mismatch from day 1, and it never proved otherwise.

There was a sequence where Marquez landed a right lead flush, missed a left uppercut, then landed a right hand square on the face...very surprised he landed so cleanly on a number of occasions. It shows great timing on his part, but in the middle of the ring, mayweather was just too quick of foot, hand, and much too large. JMM would be out of range to hit Mayweather, while Mayweather would pepper him over and over with he jab. Overall I thought Marquez showed he still has the reflexes to be competitive with anybody at 135 and 140.

JMM showed a ton of heart to take that punishment all nite. He only raised his stock.

he impressed me before he even stepped into the ring. in the ring he looked like a small man fighting a big man.

He went 12 rounds against a bigger strong man who was trying to KO him, eventhough he was dominated Marquez showed great effort and heart, Floyd should someone who's got a great chance of kicking his ass and that someone is Mosely.

Im impressed with this determination to put effort to make it a fight. Unlike his opponent who didn't put any effort to be at least entertaining. He just went toying against someone whos already on disadvantage by a 110%

He is shorter and lighter with a smaller reach, but if he had more balls he would have eaten some leather to pressure Floyd.

Anyone who says Juan Manuel Marquez was humiliated or embarassed would be wrong in my estimation. He did everyone proud for never wilting. Like Mayweather said himself in his classy post-fight press conference, "Juan is tough man. I hit him with some shots and thought, he's gone this time. But nope. He always gets up." I paraphrased but it was nice for Floyd to talk about Marquez in that fashion after the fight. I always said Floyd is really dignified and classy after the fight, everything else is to ensure a big pay cheque with his antics.

He was too overmatched physically? Yea..but that wasn't the reason why he lost. He woulda been dominated even if it was at 140. Just a big mismatch for marquez.

Not impressed. Floyd play around with him like a cat to a dazed mouse. No semblance of competition. Just a mismatch. Floyd should have fought Pac who is faster and definitely stronger than JMM.
