Did someone inform Pernell Whitaker that 90 percent of his fights were fought illegally?

    hmm says . . .

I've noticed that as well but didn't really care for it anymore since nobody calls him out on it. I guess it's fine :tired............. He does do it quite often and it's really noticeable.

I'd say his use of elbows is a far more troubling willful, frequent and flagrant violation of the presumed rules of boxing, but I guess enforcement is commission-specific. Even if dipping below the belt line is technically against the unified rules, if no commission enforces that rules it becomes functionally null and void.

There's kind of a reason it's illegal though. When you dip that low your basically impossible to hit except on the back of the head or the back, which are illegal as well, so.

Ya and they get penalized for it. I don't recall mayweather ever getting a warning for any of his infractions. I remember in the Hatton fight he was jamming his elbow into his face the entire time and Joe Cortez didn't mention it once. Hatton was also complaining about him dipping below the belt line, and again nothing. It's a valid complaint.
