If Pac beats Cotto (50/50) I agree with Hudson, I really think Pac retires temporarily instead of facing troublesome negotiations. Also in perspective, with a victory, Pac would have sealed his place as the fighter of this generation (why risk it) and there would be no one for Floyd to fight to reclaim it. Pac/JMM is a distant possibility

First off, You mean if Cotto can't stop him, Cotto has never put anyone to "sleep".

Secondly, if Cotto doesn't get a stoppage and beats Pac all around the ring and roughs him up and bully's him, their would be no controversial decision.

And three, Oscar Delahoya recently stated that when he fought Manny Pacquiao he felt like he was fighting 10 guys:lol: If Pac makes Cotto feel the same way, then once again, their would be no controversial decison. Pac would win based on activity which is a possibility.

Pac is faster and hits much harder than Cotto ... Cotto's chin is also very very questionable. Pac's got this one, you can't deny the facts.

Mayweather will woop Pac's ass. Manny will not be able to even touch Mayweather, he's just to fast. That's the fight I want to see.

To hell with Shane, Sr. said it best, he wants a nice paycheck ... Shane needs to fight Cotto, and if he gets past him than perhaps Floyd can think about it.

Cotto shouldn't be counted out. This fight is high risk for Pacquiao and Roach and the crew shouldn't take Cotto lightly. Cotto's body shots are basically the key things that Pacquiao needs to look out for. I do think that Pacquiao can go in and out on Cotto because of his speed. Speed can be neutralized by timing and if Cotto can counter effectively against Pacquiao he has a good chance.. but what I'm worried most about Cotto is which Cotto we'll see in the fight. He looked alright in the Margarito fight but Margarito kept coming at him with angled punches which Pacquiao has but with 10x more speed. He looked decent against Clottey but was again taking punishment at times. If Pacquiao can apply pressure with his speed and his angled punches I think Pacquiao will take the win but if Cotto finds some way to neutralize Pacquiao's speed he has a good chance especially if he blasts off with body punches.

Oh yeah I'm new to this forum so hello everyone!

Should Pac lose this one, which is highly possible, Floyd goes back to retirement and will wait for a Cotto/Pac rematch hoping Pac would win a rematch, then challenge Pac. Either that, he'll ask Berto.

He wants none of those other guys at welter. Floyd-Shane should have started shaping by now if he really has any intention of fighting Shane.

I'm most def.....supporting cotto over pacman......

forget shane, forget manny, cotto is floyd's toughest fight IMO.....the man has shown he can negate speed, he did it against mosley, and it will be essential to beating manny....

cotto vs floyd is what I want to see....

But if Pac wins decisively over Cotto, would you still see Cotto as Floyd's toughest fight?

Anyway, I agree that we shouldn't be talking about Pac-Mayweather. Settle Pac-Cotto first (because it's a really tough match-up) and whoever wins that should face Mayweather. (And Mayweather should face Mosley while waiting)

We have 4 top P4P fighters all w/in range of each other! It's a very rare situation and should be exploited.

Floyd fights winner of Pac/Cotto and Shane and he can rightfully silence most of his critics. Including me. BTW, Cotto wins TKO 5-9 rd.

Nope, that fight is not on yet, and Pac would be a fool to look past Cotto. Ultimately I think that as long as Pac is at 100% and is focused he can outspeed Cotto, tear up his face, and give him "death by a thousand left hands", but if he looks past Cotto for a second it's the best way to guarantee a loss.

If Manny doesn't give it his all and doesn't have his head together, Cotto will stop him and beat him up along the way.
