An indepth review of MAX KELLERMAN's interview skills

Kellerman is in the wrong role. His primary strength is that he conveys excitement. He has facts in his head but no wisdom. He's like a fan that feels empowered on Boxrec. He can give you stats and fawn, but he cannot accurately convey the significance of a fight - past or present.

He shouldn't be taking over Larry's position. If you want a numbers guy then fine, but Larry's spot is empty right now. Bernstein would be a decent replacement, but then Showtime would be left dry.

In my opinion there's as much of a talent void in boxing journalism, both broadcast and print, as there is in heavyweight boxing - you have one or two good guys and then an enormous load of ****.

I like the guy, you can tell he truly loves boxing. That interview was fun, just what you expect out of Floyd, really, who was gonna interview him any different, not Merch, that's for damn sure.

..and Toney was just an ******* after the Holyfield fight, no class.. Showtime just paid you a shitload of money, do the ****ing interview.. I like James Toney, but that was a low point for him.

max's commentary is ridulous. he says katsidis has similar power to gatti, then steward corrects him in a very polite respectful way. so may basically starts arguing with one of the top trainers/boxing minds of his generation.

i thought jim and max were going to go up and hump katsidis' leg. He fights like marciano. has gatti power, et cetera. wth?

 

I like Max and I thought he was doing good up until he cut it back to Jim...
He gave Mayweather praise for his fight then Floyd started plugging his sponsors and Max rightfully stopped him. Floyd responds with "thats 7 figures baby" so then Max asks why did he not make weight and instead opt to pay Marquez 600g and Floyd says he's not there to talk about money. atsch

He was askin questions everyone wants to know. And Floyd didn't like it. Then Mosley came in and Max seemed to be trying to calm everything down so they both can have their say. But Floyd seems to turn his anger towards Max instead of the man that was in front of him, callin him out..

kellerman took like thirty seconds to ask 'what are your thoughts on a fight with shane mosley?'

we don't need the entire ****ing back story and kellerman trying to look good. Dammit floyd only has a few seconds to talk post-fight so make it as efficient as possible. That interview was 90% kellerman, 9% mayweather, 1% mosley.

It was most disrespectful to JMM who is the most noble, brave, and humble man there and his interview got pushed aside.

 

all i gotta say is, it just didn't feel like a big even without larry merchant
