Sure his selection of opponents havent always been the best, But think how annoyed you would be if you were a professional fighter with a gifted skillset whos won every professional fight won world titles in 5 different weightclasses and you had the likes of Brian Kenny and Larry Merchant always dismissing you because you aint "exciting enough" and dont want to have slugfests everyfight and get beat up the whole time.
people have evert excuse in the book on why floyd won.....JMM was his most dangerous to date until he came in 2lbs heavier...then he was the bigger fighter and should pick on ppl his own size...... if floyd fought the top three MMA haevywieghts in one night and beat them all convincinly...ppl would still have an excuse
Good Point. At the same time that they discredit you, they overcredit someone for beating fighters that you have already beaten. I would always go for a win over an exciting slugfest which I may lose, thats jst me. They only really want him to lose so they'll always find things to pick at to discredit his achievments. Real Talk. I think it takes more discipline and focus to ignore all criticism and the crowd and all other outside influences to stick to a winning gameplan. You may not not have realized this but he was bigger BEFORE the 2 extra lbs.. those lbs were just the straw that broke the camels back. Nobody is asking him to fight heavyweights, just the fighters in his division (welterweight). I don't think that is hard to grasp.
Its very simple in his case, of he wasn't the arrogant man proclaiming to be the best ever, he wouldn't get the same reaction..He would have detractors but not as strongly as right now. The best from the past always went after big challenges, Floyd doesn't look for the biggest challenge to put his awesome skills to the test..
Your point is not valid. He already fought the top welterweight belt holders during his time at Welterweight (prior to retirement). Zab Judah and Carlos Baldomir. Both were dangerous and capable of knocking Floyd out. Yet, he was the undisputed champion at Welterweight then. Now that he fight only two fights at a catch weight, he is supposedly cherrypicking smaller guys? If that is the case, then Hagler, Leonard and Ali were cherry pickers also.

Hmmm.....I think what frustrates people about Floyd is the fact that an immensely talented guy who would beat nearly everyone out there...still doesn't seem to want to fight the best at 147. But I feel all that's about to change now though, he knows that he'll have to beat Mosely, Cotto and Pac to finally fulfill his legacy. Another thing that may sound contraversial, but I think is brutally true to an extent....is if Floyd was a white fighter, he'll be getting all the credit in the world from experts and pundits. How in the **** can people willingly accept Joe Calzaghe's ATG status, but question Floyd's...? I don't mean to play the race card, but Floyd to an extent is right when bring these issues up.

Look Larry Merchant likes a brawl ..Thats why his favorite fights are Gatti Ward ..Can't put too much into what he thinks ..Floyd style doesn't entertain the old whino .. And Max well his favorite fighter is Pernell Whitiker I could see why he wouyld want Floyd to step up when their are always so many comparisons ..But at the end of the day its Floyd's career it doesn't take Larry and Max to point out what the man can do and could do . Picking on a smaller fighter is not rockert science ..This is why he gets so scrutinized !
i just think its a shame that as great as floyd is, he isn't willing to fight the top welterweights and truly put his skillz to the test. I'm a cotto fan all the way, but i believe floyd coult beat ANY welterweight, just a shame he's not willing to try.
Money is the best out there. Show any young fighter a dvd on Money and it is a lesson of the best defence in years and fast combinations he is class and took apart Marquez. As for not getting the respect he deserves I would back that up. He dismantled Ricky Hatton and others in the ring. On form he is untouchable. As for Mossley I like him but he wouldn't be able to live with Mayweather and it will be 1 sided Mossley is on the slip now a real test with Money will be the end of him but it will be made for the end of the year. Pacman dont want anything to do with Money if Cotto beats Pacman it sets up a huge clash and Mayweathers real test against Cotto he will push Money all the way. Only time will tell but I cant wait to see Money back in the ring again.
