Im going to this fight but I still think its very sad when a fight like this wont be televised yet a sport as dull as cricket seems to be on all day every day.
about 24 days to go and still no deal, this is just pathetic i'm getting the same feeling as when a commentator says "and England sad sadly are out" at every tourney we enter expecting to win.
ESPN has put up a programe wishes list for people to see what they want if we get people off this site looking at getting the super six up and going and everyone reply about the Super Six they may well go and get it. http://www.espn.ie/more/feedback/ All you have to do is go to the topic and highlight ESPN Channel and under it highlight Programming Wishes and fill it in and tell them about the Super Six worth a shot.:good
Fat Micks handling of Frochs career post world title shot has been negligent...what the **** is he playing at??
I've did the thing and this was my tuppence Hello I just thought I'd add a bit about boxing. You must've seen the interest that Hatton and Calzaghe fights gained when they were on Sky/Setanta. The following was huge. Boxing is a huge sport in this country and when a Brit fighter gets the right marketing he will always be a superstar. This leads me on to Carl Froch and the Super Six series. This is an innovative idea that has captured the imagination of the boxing world and the fans simply cannot wait for Oct 17th when it all kicks off. I implore you as an ESPN subscriber to do all you can to get this. It is simply gonna be huge and every fight has the potential to be a classic. Please, please, please get this. If you do I'm certain that your numbers will go up and the boxing community in the UK will thankyou a thousand times and over. From there on in the boxing coverage will surely grow for your company. A depressed boxing fan but fan of Espn Shaun Brown
Why is Carl still with him.:? He should be raking in the money at this stage of his career (including a decent amount form tv coverage).
they still havent learnt there lesson from the taylor fight, at least with setanta there was a chance, looks like a stream or a cut replay the following day on itv?
The irony here is that people used to laud Witter and Froch for doing it the 'proper way' (Brit/ CW/ Euro titles) and now the same people are saying they were poorly promoted/ managed all along...
:deal I'm not sure it's right to say that his career has been ****ed up by his promoter. He's got a 'proper' world title fight, had meaningful but winning fights, isn't exactly shopworn etc. Got to presume that he's getting decent money from Showtime and from ticket sales in Nottingham and if he wins the tourney he'll be one of the most successful British fighters. On the other hand most boxing fans will want to see the fights and no TV means that most won't and will be justifiably pissed off - although I can't remember many other fights with so many ESB posters going to it.
It's simple: Froch is not worth that much to the casual market. If Mick wants Ricky Hatton money, then his man needs to be bringing in Ricky Hatton numbers. He's not. He's a minor league celebrity, even less famous than Calzaghe. Does anyone know what Hennessey is asking for for the fight?
Cheeky ****...the foundations for the route to the top were laid by Big Frank, not Fat Mick :deal Hennessys inability to move Witter along after he beat Corley is diabolical...6 fights in 4 years is pretty ****ing lame :deal
